During the month of April, the winners of the first online International Chinese Language Festival were announced and the team from ISA Science City International School achieved great success. We had 18 Primary School students and 9 Secondary School students take the first, second and third place prizes awards. The school was also awarded the "Best Organisation Award" for its excellent organisation, and Chinese teacher Serena (Zheng Jing) was also awarded the "Outstanding Instructor" for her excellent coaching skills.
最美人间四月天,不负春光与时行。今年四月,第一届线上国际汉语节赛事得奖名单正式公布,广州科学城爱莎外籍人员子女学校的参赛团队获得了斐然的成绩:18名小学部学生和9名中学部学生,合共27名学生获奖,包揽冠、亚、季和优良奖所有将奖项;同时,学校因出色的组织能力获得了“最佳组织奖”称号(中国内地赛区仅三家获奖单位),中文老师Serena(郑静)也凭借其优秀的指导能力获得“优秀指导老师”称号。

About the Festival
关于此次比赛
The online International Chinese Language Festival lasted for four months and closed on the 31st of March, with a total of 3,621 participants, 4,944 entries, 7 regions and 450 schools worldwide. The competition was organised by the English Schools Foundation, the Department of Chinese Linguistics of the Hong Kong University of Education and China Education for Foreign Students, and co-organised by many prestigious schools, reflecting the international and academic nature of the competition. During the submission process, 287 volunteers from The Hong Kong University of Education were divided into 14 teams to review each entry in accordance with the requirements set by the organising committee. 245 professional judges scored each entry in a double-judging format in accordance with the judging guidelines set by the judging committee. Finally, the head judge of the judging committee reviewed and drew up the score lines for each award selecting the first, second and second runners-up. He finalized the merit awards for each project in each category, reflecting rigour and professionalism.
此次线上国际汉语节历时四个月,于今年3月31日截止报名,共计3621名参赛选手报名,收录作品4944份,全球设立7大赛区,多达450所学校参赛。赛事由英基学校协会、香港教育大学中国语言学系及中国涉外教育主办,海内外众多名校参与协办,体现了国际性和学术性。在作品的递交过程中,由287名香港教育大学的义工分为14个团队,就组委会拟定的参赛作品要求逐一审核作品。245名专业评委老师就评判委员会拟定的评审准则以双评委的形式为每一份作品打分。最后由以评判委员会主任评委复查作品打分情况,拟定各奖项的分数线,就每个组别中的每个项目,甄选出冠、亚、季军和优良奖,体现了严谨性和专业性。

3 Programmes and 5 Pathways
三大语言项目,五大学习课程
There are 3 language programmes with 5 learning pathways offered at ISASC: English, Chinese and ‘Mother Tongue’. Mother tongue is for students whose first language is not English or Chinese. These students are, with family support able to continue formally learning this language.
爱莎科学城学校提供三大语言项目:英文项目、中文项目和母语支持项目(其中英文和中文项目采用分级教学,分别开设“语言与文学”及“语言习得”课程)。母语支持项目专为母语为非中英文的学生开设,家长可向学校提出上课申请,学校将给予充分支持。

In Early Years, teachers use the “immersion method” of language teaching to provide children with a relaxing, engaging, and fun learning environment. In Primary and Secondary School, students learn English and Chinese through a systematic learning model using level-based teaching methods with set teaching hours.
在幼儿阶段,老师采用 "浸入式教学法 "进行语言教学,为孩子们提供一个轻松愉快、渐入佳境的学习环境。在中小学阶段分层教学法,学生通过系统的学习模式在特定的教学时间内学习英文和中文。
