公开招募｜GTSI推出数据科学行业导师计划

The Industry Mentor Program for the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) program at Georgia Tech Shenzhen Institute, Tianjin University (GTSI) invites industry experts with education passion to provide MSA students with experience sharing and career guidance, aiming to improve their job search/competitiveness.

• Through the two-way selection between the industry mentors and the students, each mentor will tutor 1-2 MSA students for a period of six months to one year. The guidance content includes but is not limited to career planning, case analysis, experience sharing, industry research, etc. The guidance can be done via online or social media platforms, telephone, email or offline activities.

• The industry mentors will recommend part-time/full-time positions suitable for the students’ career development according to their abilities and skills.

• The industry mentors will participate in activities related to the career development of the MSA students, such as presentation skills and mock interviews.

• The industry mentor program will be publicized and promoted in the "MSA Employment and Advancement" column of the GTSI official Wechat channel. Students select the mentors according to their profiles, and the mentors select the students according to their qualifications.

• The "MSA Employment and Advancement" column of the GTSI official Wechat channel will conduct exclusive interviews with the industry mentors and the participating students in each session, which will help the students to better understand the mentors and enhance GTSI MSA program recruitment efforts.

• Officially acknowledge the industry mentors on the GTSI website;

• Prioritize the campus recruitment and employment needs of the industry mentors;

• Organize a communication platform for the group of industry mentors;

• Deliver timely information about GTSI, especially about the MSA program to the industry mentors.

Selection of the industry mentors will be based on their industry experience, industry field, academic background, etc. We expect the industry mentors to:

• Be passionate about education, have good professional ethics, and rigorous academic training;

• Commit to a minimum of 10 hours of mentoring per student per six month period to guide and communicate with the students;

• Have rich industry experience in a given field, and the enthusiasm to provide one-on-one career counseling to the students;

• Hold a middle or senior management position in a company or institution, or have at least 3 years of team management experience;

• Preference is given to professionals working in the fields of quantitative, data, product, design, consulting, investment, public sector, etc.

• Recommendation from GTSI management teams, faculty, staff, etc.

• Recommendation from the MBA/EMBA program of Tianjin University School of Management in Shenzhen;

• Organize a communication platform for the group of industry mentors;

• Attract potential industry mentors from the society: set up an application portal for potential industry mentors.

• Apply/Nominate/Recommend;

• Background screening;

• Short interview by the GTSI MSA leadership team;

• GTSI MSA leadership team ranks score for potential candidates;

• Selection made.

It is expected that every year, a periodic review will be conducted to evaluate intermediate progress of the program. The review includes presentations from MSA students who participate the program and also thoughts/experience sharing from the industry mentors.

天津大学佐治亚理工深圳学院（GTSI）数据科学硕士（MSA）项目行业导师计划邀请具有教育热情的行业专家为MSA学生提供经验分享和就业指导，旨在提高他们的求职和竞争力。

• 通过行业导师和学生的双向选择，每位导师将指导1-2名MSA学生，为期六个月至一年。指导内容包括但不限于职业规划、案例分析、经验分享、行业研究等，可以通过线上或社交媒体平台、电话、邮件或线下活动等方式进行指导。

• 行业导师会根据学生的能力和技能推荐适合学生职业发展的兼职/全职职位。

• 行业导师将参与和MSA学生职业发展相关的活动，例如演讲技巧训练和模拟面试。

• 行业导师计划将在GTSI官方微信公众号“MSA就业与晋升”栏目进行宣传推广。学生根据个人资料选择导师，导师根据资历选择学生。

• GTSI官方微信公众号“MSA就业与晋升”栏目，每期将对行业导师和参与学员进行专访，帮助学员更好地了解导师，提升GTSI MSA项目招聘工作。

• 在GTSI 网站上正式公布行业导师；

• 优先考虑行业导师的校园招聘和就业需求；

• 搭建行业导师群交流平台；

• 及时向行业导师提供有关GTSI的信息，尤其是有关MSA项目的信息。

行业导师的遴选将基于行业经验、行业领域、学术背景等，我们期望行业导师： 

• 热爱教育事业，具有良好的职业道德，接受过严格的学术训练；

• 承诺每6个月为每位学生提供至少10小时的辅导，以指导学生并与他们交流；

• 在特定领域具有丰富的行业经验，具备为学生提供一对一职业辅导的热忱；

• 在公司或机构担任中高层管理职务，或有至少3年以上团队管理经验；

• 优先考虑在量化、数据、产品、设计、咨询、投资、公共部门等领域工作的专业人士。

• GTSI 管理团队、教职员工等的推荐；

• 天津大学管理学院MBA/EMBA项目推荐；

• 面向社会招引行业导师：建立行业导师申请门户。

• 申请/提名/推荐；

• 背景筛选；

• 参加GTSI MSA领导团队的简短面试；

• GTSI MSA领导团队为潜在候选人打分；

• 做出选择。

数据科学行业导师计划预计每年都会进行一次定期审查，以评估该计划的进展。审查形式包括参与该计划的MSA学生的演讲，以及来自行业导师的想法/经验分享。
