A survey by SocialSphere, which focuses on younger US adults, found that 53 percent of Gen Z adults were against the Biden administration delivering on its threat to ban TikTok, while 34 percent supported such a move.

John Della Volpe, the founder and CEO of SocialSphere, said 'no doubt, Gen Z loves TikTok — it's a source of entertainment, advice, and revenue for influencers,' Della Volpe told NBC News.

Yesterday, the five-hour US Congressional TikTok hearing has made quite a splash on  social media platforms.

Many media outlets used the word "grilled" to describe TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew's situation attending the hearing.

Many netizens generally felt sympathetic watching a well-educated, decent executive of an internet company attempting to answer questions like "Does TikTok access the home WiFi network?"

Chew said TikTok for more than two years has been building a 'firewall to seal off protected US user data from unauthorized foreign access.

TikTok last week said the Biden administration demanded its Chinese owners divest their stakes or face a potential ban.
