YAV International Youth Arts Platform, co-sponsored by Shenzhen Vanke Development Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Fringe Art Center, aims at exploring, nurturing and incubating international young artists and their works, and is committed to providing young artists with creative support and professional development opportunities through collaboration with professional arts and cultural institutions and experienced artists. By taking community and public space as the stage, we will create an annual art programme and an international interdisciplinary cultural exchange platform for young artists.
Anyone from anywhere can participate in this platform, and with the support of different communities and institutions, we can experience the charm and possibility of the city together, and enrich urban culture with the power of arts. We hope that the seeds of arts can be rooted and sprout in the daily life. It is not only a creation platform for the world' s artists, but also a creative base for the young. As the first art project launched by YAV International Youth Arts Platform, the 2021 YAV Creation Programme takes Nan Tou City as the starting point, provides financial support for outstanding creative programmes and encourages diverse dialogues and practices to explore more possibilities for the future of Shenzhen. Through the gathering and creation of diverse young artistic talents, it stimulates greater social public value for the development of community and the construction of urban arts and cultural ecology, which is expected to form an influential urban cultural cluster in Shenzhen. IMPACTING is the theme of the 2021 YAV Creation Programme. Creation, is achieved through the superposition of different layers, and the collision and splicing of different elements. Arts, as the expression and extension of imagination, dissolve the boundary of physical space and mental emotion. With its long history and rich culture, Nan Tou City has reflected the development of the times and the current social life, and has highly concentrated the urban spirit of Shenzhen. Artistic creation allows people and the surroundings in the city to fully display their own characteristics and provide opportunities for expression. How to create new artistic vitality based on the regional history, culture and the environment?IMPACTING will show huge inclusiveness with the creative spaces that has opened up, making it possible for different groups to have dialogues, thus bringing opportunities to create greater public value and to change the social cognition. Field: For all art fields, including but not limited to music, dance, dramaliterature, video, interactive media, installation and interdisciplinary projects. Professional requirements: The applicants/teams shall have professional education background and the ability to create or complete works in a professional team from creation to presentation. Age and nationality: The applicant (i.e. the creator or the person responsible of the work) shall under the age of 45. 1. The idea of the work submitted by the applicant should be original, implementable and closely related to the theme of the creation. The applicant must ensure that he/she owns the independent copyright of the content of the work. 2. The work should be innovative and exploratory, and reflect the applicant' s high professional level in his/her own field, which also embodies the acuity and vitality of young artistic talent. 3. The creative content should be focus on the local culture and the relationship between the time, the city and the community. 4. Requirements for finished works: (1) Any art forms defined by the applicant are welcomed, including but not limited to script, performance art, sculpture, installation, illustration, poetry and others. Diversified creation is encouraged and the final work shall be presented in Nan Tou City. (2) Performance: 30-60 minutes. Creation related to the surroundings of the Nan Tou City is encouraged and the final work shall be presented in Nan Tou City. Themed curation: The exhibition shall fully present the creative theme. The exhibition venue includes the public/indoor space of Nan Tou City, and the exhibition area shall not be less than 200 square meters. Artwork creation: The artworks shall closely related to the creative theme, the specification and form of the work is not limited, and the final work shall be presented in Nan Tou City. (4) Video: 30-60 minutes, feature films, documentaries, experimental short films are welcomed, except commercials and trailers; The video shall closely related to the creative theme.1.
