“奇科·达·西尔瓦：亚马逊传奇”展览正于BANK画廊"金库"项目空间展出，展览带我们走进了巴西原住民艺术家奇科·达·西尔瓦（Chico da Silva）笔下纷繁而浓烈的亚马逊丛林世界。值中国与巴西建交50周年之际，我们邀请到巴西策展人、作家和研究员吉梅飞（Flavia Gimenes），以及巴西驻沪总领事馆公共外交处主管刘亨利（Henrique Cavalcante）展开一次别开生面的艺术对谈。

此次对谈将从艺术家奇科·达·西尔瓦的作品出发，探讨近年来逐渐进入公众视野的巴西当代艺术，以及全球艺术界对原住民艺术的重新关注，并将从人文视角出发，讨论原住民艺术在巴西历史上的根源及影响。借由此对谈，嘉宾们也将带领观众走进奇科·达·西尔瓦的作品，从素人的绘画技法到雨林的自然生态，感知原住民艺术对人类未来生存的隐秘启示。

本次活动受到巴西驻沪总领事馆支持。

The exhibition "Chico da Silva: Amazônian Legends" is currently on view at BANK's THE VAULT project space, and takes the audience into the carnivalesque and fierce world of the Amazon jungle as seen through the eyes of Brazilian indigenous artist Chico da Silva. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, BANK invited Brazilian curator, writer and researcher Flavia Gimenes and Henrique Cavalcante, the Head of the Public Diplomacy Section at the Consulate General of Brazil in Shanghai, to have a unique art panel. 

Starting with the works of artist Chico da Silva, the conversation will explore Brazilian contemporary art, which has been coming into the public eye in recent years, and the global art world's renewed interest in indigenous art, as well as discussing the roots and influences of indigenous art in Brazilian history from a humanistic point of view. Through this conversation, the guests will also lead the audience into the creation of Chico da Silva, from the painting techniques of an outsider artist to the natural ecology of the rainforest, to perceive the hidden revelations of indigenous art for the future survival of mankind.

The event is supported by the Consulate General of Brazil in Shanghai.

吉梅飞

Flavia Gimenes

吉梅飞（Flavia Gimenes）是一名巴西策展人、作家和研究员，毕业于英国伦敦的皇家艺术学院。她曾在位于巴西利亚的“大象文化中心”担任过五年的项目空间负责人，策划展览，制定公教和艺术驻留项目，对重塑巴西利亚的艺术生态发挥了重要作用。Flavia目前在圣保罗和上海两地工作，与来自不同人群的艺术家合作，参与组织了多项活动。Flavia近年来致力于一个研究项目，探讨古代神话以及亚洲和南美宇宙观和创世论如何在当代艺术实践中相交。该研究的第一项成果是她于2023年在上海SNAP艺术中心参与策划的群展“阿涅类寻”；第二项成果预计将于2025年初在日本东京展出。

Flavia Gimenes is a Brazilian curator, writer and researcher, graduated at the Royal College of Art in London. She is known for having a key role in reshaping the arts scene in Brasília, Brazil, with the foundation of Elefante Centro Cultural, a project-space she directed for five years, curating shows, developing public programmes and artistic residencies. Flavia currently works between São Paulo and Shanghai, China, where she has engaged in a number of activities and collaborations with artists from diverse demographics. Flavia has particularly been dedicated to a research-based project on ancient mythologies and the intersection of Asian and South American cosmologies and cosmogonies in Contemporary artistic practices. A first result of this research was the group show  Annihilation she co-curated at SNAP Shanghai, in 2023; and a second is expected to be exhibited in Tokyo, Japan, in early 2025.

刘亨利 Henrique Cavalcante

刘亨利先生自2023年6月起担任巴西驻沪总领事馆公共外交处主管。之前曾在巴西外交部多个部门任职，并参与巴西驻奥兰多领事馆的开馆工作。身为外交官的他不仅精通西方语言，同时拥有较高的日语及汉语水平。平日里，他还喜欢练习中国书法和武术。

Secretary Paulo Henrique de Sousa Cavalcante has been the Head of the Public Diplomacy Section at the Consulate General of Brazil in Shanghai since June 2023. Previously, he worked in various departments of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was involved in the opening of the Brazilian Consulate in Orlando. As a diplomat, he is not only fluent in Western languages, but also has a high level of Japanese and Chinese. In his spare time, he also enjoys practising Chinese calligraphy and martial arts.
