关于我们
画廊周北京成立于 2017 年，致力于以先锋、专业的态度建立国际化的当代艺术对话和推广平台。每年画廊周北京围绕北京地区的画廊和非营利机构的最新展览展开艺术活动，包括：展览开幕、媒体导览、贵宾导览、学术讲座、行为表演、艺术家工作室探访、私人收藏探访、派对、年度晚宴等。其中，贵宾日邀请国内外重要的美术馆馆长、收藏家、策展人、艺评人与媒体共同参与，为国内外的艺术从业者与收藏家提供一个深度交流的空间；公众日则通过展览通票、语音导览、论坛、工作坊等公共教育活动，为生活在北京及周边地区的市民提供了解艺术创作和展览的渠道，打造北京的“艺术季”。

画廊周北京2023活动回顾
第七届画廊周北京于2023年5月26日至6月4日成功举办，以“易见(Visibility)”作为年度主题，展现了北京当代艺术界的潜在能量，激发城市文化活力。共有40家参展机构呈现近50个优质的展览项目，参展方与展览数量再创项目七年历史之最。画廊周北京不断致力于拓展中外当代艺术交流。主单元覆盖包括798艺术区在内的北京六大艺术聚集地，充分彰显城市的当代艺术活力。共推出本地21家画廊与5家非营利机构的展览项目；艺访单元呈现了13家国内外画廊，覆盖全球 9 大当代艺术中心城市；公共单元由独立策展人陈立领衔项目内容策划，以"琢面”为主题，试图回应当下现实中外部结构与内部力量之间的张力，以及桎梏与生长之间的运动，在798艺术区各大核心户外场域呈现了15位艺术家的雕塑、装置、影像和表演作品；新势力单元延续对华语青年力量的关注由艺术家蒲英玮担纲策划，以“今日青年!”为主题，以展览、展映、派对等多种形式连接活动期重要时间节点。
主单元参展申请
第八届画廊周北京将与北京当代·艺术博览会同期举办，并联动798艺术区、草场地艺术区、顺义艺术区、中间艺术区、吉里国际艺术区等主要本土艺术区，及全国农业展览馆、国贸、花家地等核心点位，打造属于北京的“城市艺术事件”，建立国际化的当代艺术对话平台。
画廊周北京2024年主单元参展申请现已开放中，我们期待有更多的合作伙伴的加入，为广大藏家及观众展示当下文化艺术发展上的开放性、多元化和艺术生态的前沿力量。
同时，画廊周北京2024学术委员会将对参展方案进行逐一评审，于2024年2月正式公布最终名单。届时，我们将提前与各申请机构单独联系，并告知申请结果。

About Us
Founded in 2017, Gallery Weekend Beijing (GWBJ) aims to build a professional, forward-thinking, international platform for conversations about contemporary art. GWBJ runs every year with a series of art events centred around a curated selection of new exhibitions from galleries and non-profit institutions across Beijing. The art event includes an opening ceremony, media guided tours, VIP guided tours, academic forums, performances, artist studio visits, private collection visits, parties, and an annual dinner. The VIP programmes feature important domestic and international museum directors, collectors, art critics and media. Art professionals and collectors are able to discuss and share knowledge through a series of academic activities. The public programmes aim to provide the public with the opportunity to learn more about art and provide Beijing residents with an insightful guide to art exhibitions in their own city.
Gallery Weekend Beijing's Core Value: Professional, International, Sustainable.
The 7th edition of Gallery Weekend Beijing was successfully held from 26 May to 4 June 2023. This edition not only showcased the latent energy within Beijing's contemporary art scene but also served as a catalyst for the city's cultural vibrancy. Guided by the annual theme of "Visibility", a total of 40 exhibitors presented nearly 50 quality exhibitions. The number of exhibitors and exhibitions was again the highest in the seven-year history of the programme. Gallery Weekend Beijing remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering cross-cultural exchanges in contemporary art between China and the global community. The Main Sector, covered 6 major art districts in Beijing, including the 798 Art District as its centre, highlighting the vitality of the city's contemporary art scene. In total, exhibitions were presented by 21 local galleries and 5 non-profit institutions. The Visiting Sector, brought in 13 galleries from home and abroad. This sector covered 9 major contemporary art hub cities around the world. The Public Sector, curated by independent curator Leo Li Chen,was themed "Facets" , The exhibition attempted to respond to thetension between external structures and internal forces in the current reality, as well as the movement between bondage and growth, presenting sculptures,installations, videos and performances by 15 artists, in the core outdoor venues of the 798 Art District. Continuing its focus on the power of Chinese youth, the Up&Coming Sector is curated by artist Pu Yingwei. Under the theme "Youth Now!",exhibition, screenings, parties and other activities linked the key moments of the event period.
Main Sector Application
The 8th edition of Gallery Weekend Beijing is scheduled to take place concurrently with the Beijing Contemporary Art Fair. Creating a network among key art districts in Beijing—such as the 798 Art District, the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre, Caochangdi Art District, Shunyi Art District, Inside-Out Art District, Jili International Art Zone—we will extend this connectivity to core locations like the China World Trade Centre and Huajiadi. Our objective is to curate a unique "Urban Art Event" for Beijing, thereby establishing an internationalized platform for dialogue in contemporary art.
The application for participation in the Main Sector of Gallery Weekend Beijing 2024 is now open. We look forward to welcoming more partners to showcase the openness and diversity in the current cultural and artistic development, as well as the leading forces in the artistic ecosystem, for collectors and audiences. Simultaneously, the Academic Committee of Gallery Weekend Beijing 2024 will thoroughly review the exhibition proposals, and the final list will be officially announced in February 2024. At that time, we will contact each applying organization individually and communicate the results of the application.
