Yanbang translates as the Salt Band Ancient Road, since it was the road taken by salt peddlers in ancient times. Xinchang shares a border to the east with the salt-producing Ninghai. Salt peddlers illicitly trafficked salt from Ninghai through the deep mountain road in Leng'ao.
盐帮古道是古代私盐贩子走的道路，新昌东边与产盐的宁海接壤，私盐贩子从宁海贩运私盐选择深山冷岙中的山道。
A gentle and wide stream accompanies you when going from Lijiaxi Village in Xinchang to Chiyan Village. There is a good walking trail beside the stream. The ancient trail is built according to the topology of the mountain, which makes it so that you find yourself on different sides of the stream while walking. Hiking the trail involves eighteen such crossings of the stream.
从新昌的里家溪村到赤岩村之间，有一条平缓宽阔的溪流，溪边有很好的游步古道，古道依山势而建，有时在溪的这也，有时在溪的那边，每跨过一次溪流便算是一个“渡”，有十八个来回，就产生十八渡。
十八渡的名称依次为：水碓渡→鲤鱼渡→牛坪渡→呂龙渡→芦花渡→桃花渡→牛脖渡→菩提渡→乌云渡→飞石渡→双江渡→香潭渡→牛心渡→石斑渡→白竹渡→羊角渡→雷公渡→红岩渡

1-day Hiking Trip
7:00: Gather at the entrance of the City Hotel at No. 5 Shaanxi South Road. (About 3-3.5 hours by bus to the starting point of the hike)
早上7点准时从陕西南路5号，城市酒店门口集合出发。约3-3.5小时车程到徒步的起点。
10:30-11:30: Arrive at the starting point and begin our hike. The stream is gurgling, with vibrant green mountains and lush bamboo on both sides, and the ancient road full of history is waiting for you.
10：30-11：30左右抵达徒步起点，开始我们的徒步之行。溪水潺潺，两边是生机勃勃的青山绿竹，脚下是承载着历史的古道，时空交错仿佛回到千年前的时光。
12:30: Find an open space and start enjoying our picknick lunch. (Please bring your own lunch).
12:30，找个空地，开始享用自己准备的午餐。
13:30: Continue the hike.
13:30继续出发穿越十八渡。
16:30: Hop on the bus to go back to Shanghai.
19:30: Arrive in downtown Shanghai.
16：30启程返沪，快乐旅程至此结束，大家恋恋不舍，相互惜别！
19：30 回到市区，期待下一次的出行。
