Happiness is a struggle, and health is a struggle. Many people call work slackness Taichi. Not really. From the philosophical concept of understanding Taichi, fast and slow, advance and retreat, attack and receive, hard and soft are common contradictions in life, but also performed in Taichi movement.
Taichi, the national intangible cultural heritage, its core ideas are the Chinese traditional Confucianism, Taoism philosophy, its theory based on "Laozi "," Zhuangzi ". Perfectly combined with martial arts, Chinese medicine and art, it is a characteristic element of traditional Chinese culture and sports form full of the concept of Oriental tolerance, with rich cultural connotations and profound philosophy.
Taichi, a high-level human culture, is good for self-cultivation, edify sentiment, physical fitness, longevity, mental health, harmonious coexistence of human beings.
In the era of commodity economy, Taichi is not only a safe aerobic exercise for middle-aged and old people, but also a great way for young people to practice martial arts, explore Taichi culture, change mindset and methodology, realize that yin-yang philosophy exists in all things and grasp a brilliant life.
On August 29th, HeathersChamber will collaborate with Shanghai Chen Taichi Sports Center to hold the first interactive Taichi Philosophy event at Shanghai Zhongshan Park. This form of Taichi promotion will also be the first time in history. Through practicing Taichi, we can boost our energy, raise our spirit, and experience the philosophy of life. What's more, together we can learn something about the excellent Taichi culture.
The event marked the 388th anniversary of the birth of British philosopher John Locke. Philosophy is a kind of knowledge that makes people intelligent and a way to explore the relationship between man and nature.

Taichi Practice
Unprecedentedly, the dynamic, live and interactive Taichi Philosophy Event will show a good opportunity for martial arts lovers and philosophy lovers to practice and feel.
At 9 am on August 29th, we will gather at the gate of Zhongshan Park. When people arrive, we'll move to a shaded open space for an ice-breaking introduction. Subsequently, the coach and the instructor will lead you to a simple warm-up, and practice Chen-style Taichi's four classic moves: One-handed Wrap, Two-handed Wrap, Double-stroking Wrap, Before and After stroking Wrap. Following that comes Q&A and interactive sessions. Respectively, during the interaction, we may expect to watch some kung fu PK between easterners and westerners.
From Taichi to Philosophy
Philosophy: John Locke
After practicing Taichi, our mind will become more relaxed and sharp. It would be a better moment to reflect on a positive outlook of our own life and philosophy. Coincidentally, August 29th, 2020, will be the British philosopher John Locke's 388th birthday. Regarding Locke's philosophy or his influence, as well as the ancient philosophy of Taichi, feel free to share each other's perspectives and feelings.
John Locke, (August 29, 1632—October 28, 1704), English philosopher whose works lie at the foundation of modern philosophical empiricism and political liberalism. He was an inspirer of both the European Enlightenment and the Constitution of the United States, widely regarded as one of the most influential of Enlightenment thinkers and commonly known as the "Father of Liberalism." Considered one of the first of the British empiricists, following the tradition of Sir Francis Bacon, Locke is equally important to social contract theory. His work greatly affected the development of epistemology and political philosophy. His writings influenced Voltaire and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, many Scottish Enlightenment thinkers, as well as the American revolutionaries. His contributions to classical republicanism and liberal theory are reflected in the United States Declaration of Independence.
