Beijing is launching an international card to make it convenient for foreigners to take the subway

On July 31, CCTV news, China's capital Beijing is planning to introduce the Beijing Pass, an all-in-one international card that allows foreigners to pay for transport in the city.

Foreign bank cards, such as Mastercard, will also be supported in the Beijing subway. Since June 1, the construction of POS machines has been completed in 335 stations of 17 lines under the Beijing Metro. Foreigners can use foreign bank cards to pay for tickets through POS machines, and services such as swiping through the gate, swiping through the card to purchase one-way tickets and replenishing tickets with Mastercard and other overseas bank cards will be gradually realized in the near future.

Germany's Boehringer-Ingelheim has announced an investment in Bioscience GMBH

On July 31, Boehringer Ingelheim announced that it has invested in China’s Synthetica to accelerate the development of Synthetica's oncolytic bacteria pipeline into clinical trials. Synthetica is a Shenzhen-based biotechnology company that aims to precisely regulate live bacterial genes through artificial genetic circuits to deliver therapeutic proteins more precisely to tumor cells.

British intercontinental Hotels Group's first luxury boutique hotel officially landed in Sichuan

Intercontinental Hotels Group announced the grand opening of Indigo Lugu Lake on July 30, marking the first hotel of its luxury boutique hotel brand to officially land in the Lugu Lake area. Apple's Shenzhen Applied Research Lab will soon be up and running

On July 26, Apple announced that its applied research lab in Shenzhen will soon be up and running. The lab will focus on reliability, quality and material analysis testing for iPhone, iPad, Apple Vision Pro and other products. It is reported that Apple has invested more than 1 billion yuan in applied research LABS, and has R&D centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Shenzhen.

China' s BeiGene opened the US flagship biologic drug production base and clinical research and development center

On July 26, BeiGene, Ltd, announced the official opening of its new flagship facility at Princeton West Innovation Park in Hopewell, New Jersey, USA. The base has a world-class biologics production capacity and clinical research and development center, which will continuously enhance the differentiated competitiveness of the company as a tumor treatment innovation company. With more than 30 clinical or commercial-stage drug molecules, BeiGene's 42-acre site provides the company with the flexibility to scale current and future innovative medicines to meet the needs of cancer patients. BeiGene's $800 million facility took three years to build.
Chinese Firm BEST Inc. Invests $2.1 Million in Advanced DWS Systems for Malaysian Sorting Center

On July 26, BEST Inc., a leading Chinese integrated smart supply chain and logistics solutions provider, has invested nearly $2.1 million in eleven Dimensioning, Weighing, and Scanning (DWS) systems at its largest sorting center in Shah Alam, Malaysia. This significant investment aims to boost operational efficiency and service quality amid Malaysia's booming e-commerce market. The new DWS systems, which handle up to 20,000 parcels per hour, will enhance sorting precision and automation. Gavin Lu, CEO of BEST Inc. Malaysia, highlighted that this advancement sets a new industry standard and supports the company’s strategic expansion in Southeast Asia, following successful ventures in Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.
