我们非常高兴地宣布，新学年里，拥有美国顶尖学校大学升学顾问和招生经验的 Melissa Meltzer Warehall 女士将加入启明星双语学校，成为启明星的大学升学顾问！Warehall 女士来自芝加哥，在过去的30年里一直致力于教育和大学咨询服务。

自 2007 年以来，Warehall 女士一直在美国顶尖学校芝加哥大学实验学校(University of Chicago Laboratory Schools)担任大学升学顾问，该学校是伊利诺伊州排名前列的私立学校(根据 NICHE 排名，在全美排名第22 位)。在这个岗位上，她为数百名学生及其家人提供咨询，帮助学生顺利完成复杂的大学录取程序。

在加入实验学校之前，Warehall 女士还在芝加哥大学担任了4 年媒体总监兼招生副总监，在德保罗大学戏剧学院担任了16年的招生总监。

Warehall 女士还拥有指导中国学生升学的经验。自 2014 年以来，她一直在中国无锡一所私立国际学校担任升学顾问，指导和帮助学生、家长完成美国大学申请流程。此外，她还为这些学生组织暑期大学校园参观，为择校做好准备。借由这些经历，Warehall 女士积累了更多的指导中国学生成功申请国外高校的经验。

更早接受指导，获取更多关注

一般来说，大学升学指导工作从学生进入11年级开始，但为了更早、更细致地帮助学生，Warehall女士将为启明星学生从10年级开始提供支持。

“我会和所有10年级学生和家长面谈或在线见面，了解每个学生的优势和兴趣。大学升学辅导是一个非常个性化的过程；我非常高兴能通过学生的10年级一整个学年来了解他们，以便在11年级时，为学生提供最适合他们需求、期待和职业目标的升学辅导课程。

启明星的学生将前往美国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰，甚至亚洲和欧盟国家深造。我将为启明星学生奠定相关知识基础，支持他们选择和成功申请最适合自己的高校。我非常高兴能陪伴启明星家庭踏上这段振奋人心的旅程。

We are excited to announce that Ms. Melissa Meltzer Warehall has joined Daystar Academy as our college counselor. As a resident of Chicago, Ms. Warehall has devoted over 30 years to education and college counseling.

College Counselor

Since 2007, Ms. Warehall has been a University High School College Counselor at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, a top-ranked independent school in Illinois. In this role, she closely advises and helps hundreds of students and their families navigate the complex college admissions process. 

Prior to joining the Lab School, Ms. Warehall also spent four years as Director of Publications and Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of Chicago, as well as 16 years as the Director of Admissions of the Theatre School, DePaul University.

Besides her breadth of experience as both a college counselor and director of admissions at top U.S. institutions, Ms. Warehall also holds significant experience in China. Since 2014, she has been a consultant at a private international school in Wuxi, China, teaching and guiding students, parents, and teachers through the U.S. college admissions process. Ms. Warehall has also organized college campus visits to key universities during the summers. These experiences have given Ms. Warehall an added level of expertise to successfully guide students from China in their pursuit of the best fit school.

Earlier Guidance, Greater Attention

Typically, the college counseling process starts in grade 11.  However, to provide advanced support for our students in the most effective manner possible, Ms. Warehall will be offering counseling to students beginning in grade 10.  

“I will talk to each grade 10 family, either online or face-to-face, to understand the strengths and interests of each student. College counseling is an individualized process, and I’m so excited to get to know each grade 10 student throughout an entire year’s learning.  This will give me such great information so that when they move to grade 11, they will receive college counseling programs that best suit their needs, expectations, and career goals.”

Daystar students will go to the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, other parts of Asia, or the EU for further education.  I will lay a solid knowledge base for Daystar students and support them in selecting and gaining admission into a best-fit college. I’m so happy to join Daystar families on this exciting journey.

Daystar Academy’s Secondary School is continuing to grow and expand to give the most personalized support possible to our students.

Also, there will be special information sessions hosted by Ms. Warehall at college counseling.  These sessions will give students and parents in high school an overview of the college admissions process. Ms. Warehall will be providing insightful tips and updates about college admissions throughout the school year.  Check back often!
