高中男子篮球队在校际友谊赛中连中三元

Secondary School Boy's Basketball Team Won Champion of Friendly Match Three Times in A Row

上周六，启明星男子篮球队（高中组）参加了北京京西学校主办的年度Blast杯冬季锦标赛。共有7所学校参与角逐，包括北京顺义国际学校、清华附中国际学校、北京京西学校、北京德威英国国际学校、北京乐成国际学校、耀中国际学校，当然还有我们启明星双语学校！启明星双语学校男队与耀中国际学校、北京顺义国际学校（白队）、北京京西学校（黄队）同组竞争，以下是各场比赛结果：

Our U/19 (High School) Boys’ Basketball Team participated in Western Academy of Beijing Annual Winter Blast Tournament this past Saturday. 7 different schools participated in this event including ISB, THIS, WAB, DCB, BCIS, YCIS and of course Daystar Academy! Our Daystar Academy Boy’s participated in the same division as YCIS, ISB (White) and WAB (Yellow). Below is the results from each game played:

第一场，对阵北京顺义国际学校（白队）：胜

第二场，对阵北京京西学校（黄队）：胜

第三场，对阵耀中国际学校：胜

1st Game vs. ISB (White): Win

2nd Game vs. WAB (Yellow): Win

3rd Game vs. YCIS: Win

男队当天最终得分3－0，赢得小组冠军奖杯！孩子们之前仅进行了4次训练，而这是他们本季的第一场比赛。体育总监和男队总教练Matt Juranek表示，由衷地为孩子们感到骄傲！一支队伍备战比赛，通常需要几个月，至少也得花费数周，但是孩子们以极大的热忱、强烈的求知欲和持续不断的进步创造了奇迹！我们期待他们继续成长，不惧疫情挑战，参加更多赛事！

The Boy’s finished 3-0 on the day and won the championship tournament for their division! As our Athletic Director and Boys’ Team Head Coach Matt Juranek was really proud of the Boy’s because they only had 4 practices before and these were their first games of the season! It usually takes weeks and if not months to get a team prepared to compete, but the Boys have done an amazing job showing enthusiasm to want to learn the game and continue to improve day by day.

11月是北皋校区小学部的阅读月，丰富又创意满满的阅读活动，让孩子们进一步“亲近”了阅读：

The elementary school at the Daystar Beigao Campus celebrated Reading Month in November. The rich and innovative activities listed below have helped the children develop a closer friendship with reading:

 Let’s Read! Anywhere, Anytime!

整个11月间，孩子们可以选择自己一个阅读的瞬间，请家长或朋友帮忙拍照，上传到收集图片的链接，以此表明——阅读作为生活的一部分，能够发生在任何时间、地点！

Throughout the month of November, children could ask their parents or friends to take a picture of a reading moment and upload it to our online collection to show that reading can be a part of our daily lives and happens anytime, anywhere!

 Reading Buddies

不同年级学生在一起“混龄”阅读，既是增进同小伙伴之间交流和互动的好机会，没准小读者们又能因为不同年龄段的见解，擦出什么思想的“火花”呢！

Letting students of different grades and different age groups read together provides them with a great opportunity to communicate and interact with each other. This communication can help spark new and innovative ideas.

快闪阅读 

Flashmob

11月24日是快闪阅读日。一天三次，每当音乐响起，孩子们便即可拿出书阅读，音乐停止，快闪读书时段结束——一静一动的切换让孩子们觉得新奇又快乐！

November 24 was Flash Reading Day. Music was used to signal when to start and stop reading three times during the day. When the music started playing, students took out their books to read; when the music stopped, they would stop too, because it meant the end of the flash reading time. The students greatly enjoyed this unique reading activity.  

为“爱书”设计新装

Book Cover Design

孩子们选出自己最喜爱的一本图书，推荐给同学，并要为“爱书”重新设计一个封面。新设计的封面一定要能体现孩子对这本书的理解和情感，并能吸引更多同伴来主动阅读这本书！

Each student chose one of their favorite books, recommended it to their classmates, and redesigned the book’s cover. The new cover needed to show the student’s understanding of the book and why they love it so that others would be attracted to read it.
