三里屯学生勇夺“学乐亚洲小小故事演说家”TOP20奖 晋级亚洲总决赛

Sanlitun Campus Student won the TOP20 Award in the Scholastic Asia Young Storytellers Competition

好消息！在近日举行的首届学乐亚洲小小故事演说家大赛中国区比赛中，启明星三里屯校区5年级学生李佳悦从数百名小选手中脱颖而出，荣获中国区TOP 20奖，并与其他约50名选手一起经过严格选拔，作为18名优胜者之一晋级亚洲总决赛。获得此奖项表明，李佳悦拥有突出的戏剧表演和角色塑造能力；能使用不同的声音和音调饰演不同角色；并且能以清晰的声音，标准的语调，清晰传达故事内容。下一步，李佳悦将挺进亚洲总决赛，同时角逐全亚洲Top 10奖项！我们祝她一切顺利！

Good news! In the recently-held 1st Scholastic Asia Young Storytellers Award China Region Competition, Vera Lee, a fifth-grade student of Daystar Sanlitun Campus, stood out from hundreds of contestants and won the China Region TOP20 Award. After fierce competition with about 50 contestants, Vera Lee was selected as one of the 18 winners and qualified for Asian Grand Final. Winning this award shows that Vera Lee excels in theatrical performing and role shaping. She can play different roles with different voices and tones. Her clear voice and standard tone also enable her to convey the story vividly to the audience. Next, Vera Lee will continue to compete for the Top 10 in Asian Grand Final! Let us give her our best wishes!

三里屯校区举办第二届中文演讲比赛

The Second Chinese Speech Contest held at Sanlitun Campus

为了给学生提供机会展示口语表达能力和演讲技巧，进一步提升学生的语言素养，三里屯校区于11月启动第二届中文演讲比赛。比赛由3至5年级学生参加，主题涵盖校园绿色生活、想象未来、赞美真情、歌颂生命、朋友之情、环境保护 、人与动物。参赛的22名学生均获得奖状鼓励，其中4人获得奖杯。三里屯校区于本周举行了颁奖仪式。

To provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their oral expression and public speaking skills, as well as deepen their linguistic competence, Daystar Sanlitun Campus held their second Chinese speech contest in November. The contest was held for students from Grades 3-5, with topics covering green school life, imagining the future, praising honest emotions, celebrating life, friendship, environmental protection, and people and wildlife. A total of 22 students received certificates awards and 4 of them won trophies. The awarding ceremony was held this week.

第二届社会创新市场和凤凰论坛举行

Here Comes the Second Social Innovation Marketplace and Phoenix Forums

上周五，12月的社会创新市场和凤凰论坛在启明星北皋校区登场。活动延续了11月活动的形式，但经过一个月的组织和筹备，又呈现出很多不同：市场上出现了很多新摊位，凤凰论坛上也出现了很多新面孔、新节目。

Last Friday was the monthly Social Innovation (SI) Marketplace and Phoenix Forums held at Daystar’s Beigao Campus. Building upon the inaugural SI Market and Phoenix Forum held in November, we saw even more market stalls and a longer line up of interesting performances! 

“老校友”回校分享大学升学经验

Alumni Came Back and Shared Their University Application Experience

启明星社区具有特别的凝聚力，一些学生即便离开学校多年，也总会想着以自己的方式回馈这个温暖的社区。上周五，正在北京京西学校读12年级、刚刚完成大学早申的关敏敏和周纯安回到北皋校区，向11年级学生分享大学申请的经验和感想，并回答大家的提问。关敏敏和周纯安在启明星完成了小学和初中学习，在启明星尚未发展高中部之前转去京西学校。两个孩子都表示，每天都在想念启明星。

Daystar community is widely known for its cohesiveness and solidarity. Some students, after leaving the community for years, would still try to come back to the community where they used to grow up. Last Friday, Nanda Gremo and Naomi Bodeen who are studying in Grade 12 at Western Academy of Beijing, came back to Daystar Beigao Campus to share their university application experience with our Grade 11 students, since they have just completed Early Decision. They shared everything they know and answered Daystar students’ questions. Nanda Gremo and Naomi Bodeen spent their elementary school and middle school life at Daystar. We didn’t have a high school program back then, so they pursued their high school study at Western Academy of Beijing. Both of them said they missed Daystar everyday.
