Cha Sa-Soon became an internet sensation In 2005, for her unwavering determination to obtain her driver's license in South Korea. She spent an incredible $13,500 on her driving lessons, all in the pursuit of passing the written and practical driving tests.
Despite 959 failed attempts, she never gave up on her goal of obtaining her license. Finally, on her 960th try, she was able to pass the written test, followed by the practical test after an additional 100 tries.
Cha's incredible story of perseverance has inspired many people around the world. Her sheer determination and resilience in the face of failure have become a symbol of hope for those who may feel discouraged by their own setbacks.
Cha's journey began in April 2005 when she first took the written driving test. Despite her best efforts, she failed to pass the test. However, instead of giving up, Cha decided to take the test again the very next day. And so began her daily routine of taking the test five days a week, for three years straight.
After 860 attempts, Cha finally passed the written test, but she still had to complete the practical test. Undeterred by her previous failures, she continued to take the practical test for 100 more times until she finally succeeded. This would have cost a total of €12,500 or $13,500, a price most people would be unwilling to pay.
When asked about her motivation to continue with her driving lessons, Cha said that she needed to learn to drive for her vegetable-selling business. Despite the financial and emotional toll of her pursuit, she never lost sight of her goal and kept going until she succeeded.
According to Cha's driving instructor at Jeonbuk Driving School, the entire team was amazed by her persistence and dedication to her goal. They did not have the heart to tell her to give up, and when she finally passed, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted from their shoulders. In fact, they were so proud of her accomplishment that they even brought her flowers to celebrate.
Cha's efforts were not only recognized by her driving school but also by Hyundai, a major South Korean car manufacturer. They gifted her a brand new car as a reward for her incredible determination and perseverance.
Cha's story has become an inspiration to many, as it shows that no matter how many times you fail, if you keep trying, you can eventually achieve your goals. It is a testament to the power of persistence, resilience, and unwavering determination. Her story serves as a reminder that nothing is impossible, and with hard work and dedication, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
