Foreigners Arrested for "Installing Monitoring Devices"

According to local reports, several foreigners have been arrested for engaging in illegal activities.
On April 15th, a sea cucumber farmer, Zhang, who’s in Dalian of Liaoning Province made a report to the local national security authority against some suspicious people.
Zhang claimed that he had noticed some uninvited guests appearing at his farm, and they were installing marine hydrological monitoring equipment, as well as sea and air monitoring and recording equipment.
At the beginning, Huang, the person leading the group, which had several foreign individuals, claimed to be there to offer a free installation of seawater quality monitoring equipment.
However, it soon became apparent to Zhang that the data they collected had little to do with sea cucumber farming.
Concerned about the situation, Zhang dialled 12339 to report the matter to the local national security authority. After verification, it was found that the equipment being installed by Huang and his team was illegally monitoring China's air military operation zone, and the data they collected had been transmitted overseas.
They gathered crucial information, such as tides and currents, in sections of the ocean that were not open to navigation. This constituted a major threat to China's maritime rights and military security.
The local national security authority took compulsory measures against Huang and the foreign individuals in accordance with the law and arrested them. They also confiscated the monitoring equipment. Huang and his team confessed to their illegal and criminal activities of stealing China's marine hydrological data and naval and air military images.
