New Law: These Foreigners Can Be Banned from Entering China

The Standing Committee of the XIV National People's Congress (APN) has approved an amendment to the anti-espionage law.
The revised law purify the definition of spying activities. "Cooperate with espionage organizations and their agents" and "Carry out cyber attacks against government agencies, secret services or critical information infrastructures, etc.. they are explicitly classified as espionage activities.
Depending on the practical situation, the scope of objects subject to theft of secrets is moderately expanded, and "documents, data, materials and objects related to national security and interests" are also included for their protection.
Meanwhile, the new law refines the safety precautions.
The revised law clarifies the primary responsibility of state organs and social organizations in anti-espionage security measures, actively conducting anti-espionage education, and effectively raising public awareness and national security competence in anti-espionage measures.
In addition, the new law improves counterintelligence investigative and management measures and strengthens administrative law enforcement powers.
Administrative enforcement powers such as checking and collecting data, subpoena, requesting property information and prohibiting entry or exit are added to the new law.
The revised law comes into action after July 1st.
