The QS World University Rankings 2024 which includes 1500 universities from 104 countries and regions has been published.It introduces three new indicators to reflect the changing priorities of students and the evolving missions of world-class higher education institutions today: a commitment to sustainability; an even greater emphasis on supporting graduate employability and increased international research collaboration to solve the world’s biggest challenges.Institutions in both Europe and America dominate the top 10 rankings, many of which received perfect scores of 100 in indicators such as: ‘Academic reputation’, ‘Employer reputation’ and ‘Faculty/Student ratio’. Notably, the National University of Singapore (NUS), is the only institution from Asia to sit in the top 10. Peking University is the only Chinese university to make the top 20 on this year's rankings, falling five places to the 17th from a year earlier.Tsinghua University, another prestigious university in China, took the 25th spot on the rankings, the third-highest in Asia but down 11 places from last year.Eight other Chinese universities made the top 100, with The University of Hong Kong at 26th, Zhejiang University at 44th, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) at 47, Fudan University at 50th, Shanghai Jiao Tong University at 51st, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology at 60, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University at 65, and City University of Hong Kong at 70. China has the third most universities in the rankings with 78, behind the US with 199 and the UK with 91.Top 30 Universities in the World RankingsUniversities in China That Made the RankingsRegarding research influence, the mainland had the most universities in the top 50 with 13, and the top 100 with 18.
