Recently, Mr. Shi from Yanbian City, Jilin Province, told Henan TV station reporters that he sent his client a package containing a Rolex watch worth 374,500 yuan via SF Express. However, after receiving the package, the client told him that what she received was an empty box — without a watch.To get to the bottom of things, Shi began by contacting the express delivery station he used to send the package. After viewing surveillance camera footage at the station, Shi concluded that the watch was not taken out of the box at the store, a courier at the store had packaged it in a box and then the SF Express courier picked up the package.After concluding that the package was not lost at the express delivery station, Shi confronted the SF Express courier who picked up the package. The courier told Shi that he is usually busy picking up packages from many stores that he never checks what is inside the packages, and he denied knowing about or taking any watch from a package. The surveillance video of the express delivery service station in Guangzhou (the destination) showed a female client receiving the package, but when she opened it there was a white empty box. She then thoroughly searched inside the package and the white box but she did not find the watch.Shi told reporters that as far as he knows, there was no problem at the pick-up point, but the SF Express courier says he did not take the watch. Furthermore, there was no evidence of foul play at the destination, only that the client did not find the watch when she opened the package.
"This is very strange!" He said.The relevant staff of Shunfeng Express in Jilin Province told reporters that they have also been investigating the matter and think that it is most likely that the courier took the watch. However, without evidence, relying solely on what they think is useless. When Shi contacted SF Express customer service to inquire more about the problem, the staff also told him that such delivery is only accessible by SF Express internal personnel, which means it is most likely the courier took the watch.The staff added that the company is also very troubled about the issue and is willing to compensate him with 1000 yuan. Shi was shocked by the staff's so-called "consolation fee", "How is it possible to compensate a 374,500 yuan loss with 1000 yuan?"
