Since the National Immigration Administration resumed visa free policies for tourists from 59 countries in March last year, Hainan Province has received over 92,000 foreign tourists who entered the province visa-free.According to data from the local immigration bureau, compared to 2,000 tourists who entered the province visa-free last April, over 20,000 tourists entered Hainan visa-free in December alone. The increase is attributed to the addition of the number of international flights in the China's southernmost province and the resumption of the visa-free policy for 59 qualified countries.In 2000, Hainan implemented a 15 day visa-free policy for group tourists from 21 countries for the first time. Starting from May 2018, the number of days and countries have been extended to 30 and 59 days respectively.The policy was suspended in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and was resumed on March 15 last year.Since 2018, Hainan has received over 870,000 visa-free foreign tourists, with nearly 480,000 in 2019 alone.The 59 countries that enjoy visa free entry to Hainan are:Europe (40 Countries): Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovak, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.America (6 countries): United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile.Asia (11 countries): South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Qatar.Oceania (2 countries): Australia, New Zealand.
