在这个春天有了新表情
Yuelai theater,
with a history of more than a century,
has been remodeling under a cascade of mauve bubblegum flowers,
in the bright springtime.
曾在成都华兴正街的悦来茶园、锦江剧场、成都川剧艺术博物馆“摇身一变”，一座占地2万多平方米的新建筑——成都川剧艺术中心拔地而起。该建筑将在今年6月“成都大运会”开幕前完成所有外观呈现，预计2023年上半年投入使用。
A new building covering an area of more than 20,000 square meters, namely the Chengdu Sichuan Opera Art Center, has been building in Huaxing Main Street, where was used to be the Yuelai theater, Jinjiangchuan theater, and the Chengdu Sichuan Opera Art Museum.
The facade will be completed before the opening of the 31st Summer Universiade in June 2022, and the whole building is expected to open in the first half of 2023.

百年川剧文脉发轫地
The Cradle of the Sichuan Opera
成都川剧艺术中心的前身——悦来茶园，始建于1905年，至今已有100多年的历史。戏迷们可以一边喝茶一边看戏，园林式的唯美设计在当时引领了全国新式剧场的时尚潮流，吸引全国优秀戏剧演出团体纷至沓来，群英荟萃之中，川剧取其精华孕育而生。近代川剧史上最重要的演出团体“三庆会”（后发展为成都市川剧研究院）曾在此萌芽。
Yuelai theater, the predecessor of Chengdu Sichuan Opera Art Center, was built in 1905 with a history of more than a hundred years, where playgoers could drink tea while enjoying the operas. The exquisite landscape style decor set a trend that time and attracted excellent opera groups all over the country, making the theater a good birthplace for Sichuan opera and the most famous Sichuan opera group named San Qing Hui, which is also known as the predecessor of Chengdu Sichuan Opera Academe.

1954年至2019年，悦来茶园多次修缮、改道开门，一旁还扩建了锦江剧场和成都川剧艺术博物馆。几乎每一代著名的川剧艺术家、不少戏曲界梅花奖获得者、民间戏曲艺人都曾在此演出，被西南票友们亲切地称为“戏窝子”。
Yuelai theater has been renovated and extended several times to include Jinjiang Plaza and Chengdu Sichuan Opera Art Museum. It is known as the opera nest by southwest playgoers, where almost every generation of famous Sichuan opera artists, Plum Performance Award winners and folk opera artists have performed.

“悦来茶园可以说是见证了近现代川剧的形成。”成都市川剧研究院院长蒋明睿说道。
“It has witnessed the development of the modern Sichuan Opera.” Jiang Mingrui said, who is the Director of Chengdu Sichuan Opera Academe.
老戏窝遇上“川剧红”

a Completely New Look
如今在华兴正街旁，成都川剧艺术中心红色外墙已经探出施工围栏的视野，浓烈的红色溢出，在路边格外醒目。红色外壳与灰色的飞檐式起翘建筑屋顶呼应着，它将官式建筑线条的端正雅致与川西民居中青瓦的自在灵动融合。
The red façade of the Chengdu Sichuan Opera Art Centre stands out in Huaxing Main Street, echoing the grey cornices, which expressed the elegance and dynamic of the architectural lines and the green tiles of the western Sichuan dwellings.
“红色浓烈、鼓舞人心，它的灵感来自于川剧传统服饰、武侯祠红墙。”总建筑师郭颖介绍，这样的红色外墙日后会配上受川剧武生服饰启发设计的金属帷幕，白天在阳光的映衬下，红色格构会表现出别致的光影与质感，夜晚剧场的灯光透过金属帷幕缝隙照出来，华灯初上的朦胧中又有一丝梦幻诗意。
“Red represents enthusiasm. It is inspired by the traditional costume of Sichuan Opera and the red walls of Wuhou Shrine.” Guo Ying, the Chief Architect said. The red latticework shows a chic feeling and texture in the sunlight, while a dreamy quality in the haze of lights.

城市新晋打卡地标
A New City Landmark
成都川剧艺术中心升级以后，未来的演出不再局限于厅堂之内，“这里有最正宗的川剧艺术表演，也有记忆中老成都的茶戏生活，更有以川剧为主题的咖啡、酒吧、文创店、时尚音乐与动漫主题聚会，将与太古里遥相呼应，成为新晋潮流打卡新地标。” 中建西南院设计二院副总建筑师李建明补充说。
The performances will no longer limited to the halls after the use of Chengdu Sichuan Opera Art Center. “It will become a trendy landmark with the most authentic Sichuan opera art performances, the typical tea theatre, as well as Sichuan opera-themed coffee, bars, creative shops, fashionable music and animation-themed parties.” the Chief Architect, Li Jianming said.
在剧场投入使用后计划举行“开业演出季”，在疫情防控允许的基础上，邀请全国戏剧界兄弟院团前来献演，预计引入50部左右的好戏荟萃在这座西南新晋戏曲文化高地，与四川观众四季相伴。
About fifty great operas by famous groups around the country are scheduled in future, offering the citizens a terrific cultural banquet.
