Both in peacetime and inwar, Asian Americans have played a pivotal role in the history of the UnitedStates. Please join us in the Guangzhou American Center at the U.S. Consulateat 2:30PM on Tuesday, May 29 for a screening of a short film on the role of Japanese-Americansduring World War II as well as a special message from Chinese-AmericanCongresswoman Judy Chu. After the videos, a representative from the Consulatewill lead a discussion about Asian Americans, both military and civilian,during and after the war.

May is Asian American Heritage Month in the United States! To commemorate andshare more about the Asian American experience, Guangzhou American Center willhost a program covering an overview of Asian American history and immigration,as well as the personal stories and experiences of Asian Americans and theircontributions to American society. A question & answer session will follow,as well as a discussion on contemporary issues facing the community. Learn moreabout the diversity among Asian Americans and their part in American history.
