#美国大选# #历史上的今天# 1870年1月15日，由托马斯·内斯特绘制的这张图出现在一期《哈泼斯周刊》杂志中，标志着首次用驴来指代民主党。驴最早是在1828年跟民主党人安德鲁·杰克逊的总统竞选联系在一起。民主党认为驴谦逊、诚实、聪明又勇敢，但共和党觉得驴顽固且荒唐。

1/15/1870 - Thomas Nast published the cartoon that would forever link the donkey to the Democrat.

#OnThisday marks the first time a donkey to refer to the Democratic Party. The imagery appeared in an issue of Harper’s Weekly magazine, and was drawn by Thomas Nast. It was first associated with Democrat Andrew Jackson’s 1828 Presidential campaign. The donkey is seen as humble, honest, smart and courageous by Democrats, but it is seen as stubborn and ridiculous by Republicans.
