An American Family’s Attempt to Redefine Diplomacy: One Chinese Village at a Time

Join us in the @TheBAC, for a front row seat with Brian and Jeanee Linden as they detail their mission and view from a citizen’s diplomatic perspective.

Brian Linden was born and raised in Chicago, and began working in Beijing in 1984, playing the starring role in the first movie since 1949 to have a foreign leading actor. Brian spent the following two years working for CBS News in Beijing. During that time, he interviewed many Chinese leaders. He has completed graduate work at the University of Illinois, Johns Hopkins Nanjing Center, and Stanford.

Brian's initial career was in international education development and investment.  He’s worked in 75+ countries before returning to China in 2004 with his wife, Jeanee, and two young sons to preserve and redevelop a nationally protected Chinese structure into what is now known as The Linden Centre.

During this time of geopolitical tensions, Brian will share stories from his forty years of interaction with China. His view of China from a unique perspective, is conveyed in a narrative form that adds historical substance and nuance to the audience understanding of China.
