8月24日，美国驻华大使尼古拉斯·伯恩斯在美国驻华大使馆以线下和线上的方式，会见了中国美国商会董事会成员，并就当前中美关系开展了建设性的对话。中国美国商会主席华刚林与伯恩斯大使分别致开幕词，随后伯恩斯大使与使馆官员就相关话题回应了与会者的提问。中国美国商会期待未来与使馆保持进一步沟通，并代表会员公司积极向中美两国政府建言献策。
On August 24, US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns met with the AmCham China Board of Governors, both in-person at the US Embassy in Beijing and online, for a constructive dialogue on the current state of US-China relations. AmCham China Chairman Colm Rafferty and Ambassador Burns both delivered opening remarks, before Burns and a team of officials from the Embassy answered questions from the attendees on a range of topics. AmCham China looks forward to continued engagement and advocacy in the coming months.

AmCham China meets with Chinese Ambassador to the US Qin Gang in D.C.
8月17日，中国美国商会总裁何迈可及商会领导层在美国华盛顿拜会了中国驻美国大使秦刚。会议上，双方就中美关系进行了实质性讨论，内容包括商会会员对当下营商环境的担忧与诉求、中国的疫情防控政策对外企高管赴华旅行限制等，相关话题均得到秦刚大使的积极回应。
On August 17, key members of the AmCham China leadership group, including President Michael Hart, met with Chinese Ambassador to the US Qin Gang in Washington DC recently for a substantive discussion about US-China relations. Member concerns were raised about business-related matters, including on the ongoing travel restrictions for business executives traveling to China, and the group received positive feedback on a number of relevant issues.

9月1日，中国美国商会主席华刚林在中国服贸会的全球服务贸易企业家峰会上发表演讲。华刚林主席分享了2022年《美国企业在中国白皮书》的主要内容，以及商会会员对关于“制度创新对服务业发展重要性”的观点，并就法律服务与医疗卫生领域进一步开放提出建议。北京市委书记蔡奇与商务部副部长盛秋平出席了此次峰会。
On September 1, AmCham China Chairman Colm Rafferty delivered a speech at the GESTS Forum of CIFTIS. He shared key points from 2022 White Paper and membership perspective on the importance of "Institutional innovation for the development of the service sector", with a particular focus on further opening & reform needed in legal services and health care. Beijing Party Secretary Cai Qi and MOFCOM Vice Minister Sheng Qiuping have also attended the conference.

AmCham China Chairman Colm Rafferty Attends CCPIT Roundtable Discussion with Chairman Ren on "Stabilizing Foreign Investment"
8月30日，中国美国商会主席华刚林参加了由中国国际贸易促进委员会组织的服务外资企业座谈会。在会议上，华刚林介绍了商会年度《中国商务环境调查报告》、《美国企业在中国白皮书》和近期快速调查主要内容。
On August 30, AmCham China Chairman Colm Rafferty joined more than a dozen business leaders and executives from trade associations and multinational companies to meet Chairman Ren Hongbin of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Rafferty introduced findings from the 2022 Business Climate Survey, Annual American Business in China White Paper, and COVID-19 flash surveys.
商会主席华刚林建议中国进一步统筹疫情防控和经济发展、改善营商和监管环境，同时贯彻执行《外商投资法》，缩减《外商投资负面清单》，为外商投资企业便利市场准入、提供国民待遇，以进一步稳定经济形势，加强工商界对华投资信心。
Rafferty then recommended that China formulate a more coordinated approach to balance epidemic control and economic development, improve the business and regulatory environment, faithfully implement the Foreign Investment Law, and shorten the Foreign Investment Negative List to offer FIEs greater market access and national treatment to stabilize Chinese economy and restore business confidence.
中国贸促会会长任鸿斌表示，中国贸促会将继续加强同商会和外资企业的沟通，及时反应问题，推动中国营商环境持续优化。
CCPIT Chairman Ren affirmed that CCPIT is committed to deepening exchanges with AmCham China and our member companies, timely communicating problems and concerns to the government, in a bid to improving FIEs operating environment in China.

8月30日，中国美国商会主席华刚林代表商会在2022中国广州国际投资年会暨首届全球独角兽CEO大会上发表演讲，表达了在华美商界对广州绿色发展与“大湾区发展”的信心与支持。
On August 30, AmCham China Chairman Colm Rafferty represented AmCham China to make a speech at the 2023 Guangzhou Annual Global Investment Conference on the American business community’s support for Guangzhou’s green development and "Development of the Greater Bay Area."

线上“华盛顿敲门”之旅—对话布鲁金斯学会
DC Outreach with Brookings Institute
在新冠疫情暴发前，中国美国商会每年到访华盛顿特区，拜会美国政府官员、国会议员、政策制定者以及智囊团，就中美关系及双方共同关心的议题进行沟通交流。自2020年新冠疫情暴发以来，中国美国商会一直以线上形式举办“华盛顿敲门”之旅（DC outreach）。尽管我们十分怀念当面交流，但这种“新常态”让我们从一定程度上扩展了参与度，并且在中美关系等问题上得以与华盛顿最有影响力的一些人士进行交流。
Pre-COVID-19 AmCham China typically undertook an annual trip to Washington DC in May to meet with administration and congressional officials, policymakers, and think tanks to exchange views on US-China relations and other matters of mutual interest. Since the onset of the pandemic in 2020, AmCham China has been conducting virtual DC outreach meetings throughout the year. While we miss the person-to-person exchanges, this "new normal" has enabled us to expand our engagement and gain audience with some of the most influential voices in DC on the US-China relationship.
本周，中国美国商会代表团十分荣幸地与布鲁金斯学会高级研究员何瑞恩 (Ryan Hass)和戴维·多勒(David Dollar)就当前中美经贸关系与地缘政治挑战交换了意见。
The delegation was honored to exchange views this week with Brookings Institute Senior Fellows David Dollar and Ryan Hass on the economic and geopolitical challenges of the current US-China relationship.
