Recap | 2022 Tech & Innovation Summit: Empowering a Sustainable Future with Intelligent Innovations

9月29日，中国美国商会在北京希尔顿酒店举办了2022年度科技创新峰会。峰会为各行业提供宝贵平台，助其在不同领域（制造业、汽车行业、能源、医疗健康、法律、市场营销、零售等）交流颠覆性技术的创新型应用，并分享最佳实践与创新方案。

On September 29, AmCham China hosted the 2022 Technology and Innovation Summit at the Hilton Hotel in Beijing. The Summit provided a valuable platform for corporations to exchange cross-sector best practices and innovative solutions for the business application of disruptive technologies in a variety of industries and corporate functions, including manufacturing, automotives, energy, healthcare, financial services, marketing, retail, and more.

鉴于国际宏观经济和政治形势的快速变化，以及新冠肺炎疫情的持续影响，今年峰会聚焦时下热门话题，借此助力会员企业洞悉行业未来发展格局，分享科创前沿最佳实践，探寻企业发展新增长点，把握数字化转型带来的机遇，并关注中国商界的双赢局面。

Given the rapidly changing international macroeconomic and political environment coupled with the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's Summit focused on trending topics in an effort to help members navigate through periods of uncertainty, ride the tide of opportunity presented by digital transformation, and focus on win-win scenarios for the business community in China.

中国美国商会总裁何迈可对与会嘉宾的到来表示欢迎，并介绍了峰会的四大主题：人工智能、能源、汽车及和医疗健康。何迈可在开场致辞中指出，“中国在关键科技技术的发展方面起到了重要的作用，且在未来几十年间都将如此。”

AmCham China President Michael Hart welcomed guests to the Summit and introduced the four themes of the 2022 Summit: AI, energy, automotive, and healthcare. In his opening remarks, Hart observed that,"China is important for key technology development and will be for decades to come."

继何迈可总裁致辞后，中国科技部副部长张广军也以视频连线形式发表了讲话。他强调了企业在中国科技创新合作中发挥的重要作用。此外，他还代表科技部表示，他们愿意与中国美国商会在相关话题上开展合作。

Following Hart, Zhang Guanqjun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), also spoke to guests. Zhang underlined the important role enterprise plays in China's technology and innovation cooperation. Additionally, he expressed the willingness of MOST to work with AmCham China on a number of issues. 

第一场主题演讲由战略与国际研究中心 (CSIS)中国商务和经济学高级顾问暨主管甘思德先生发表。甘思德的讲话侧重于战略竞争领域的创新，他指出当下中美关系所面临的挑战不同以往。他赞扬了中美两国的持续创新，并表示希望这种创新能够持续下去。甘思德说道：“创新者即是冒险者。我们不应因担心承担风险而止步，敢于并勇于冒险是目前最大的挑战。”甘思德同时回应还响应了张副部长关于加强人文交流的呼吁。

The first keynote speech was delivered by Scott Kennedy, Senior Advisor and Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics at CSIS. Kennedy's remarks focused on innovation in an area of strategic competition, noting that today's challenges are far different than those faced during previous eras of US-China relations. He praised continued innovation in both the US and China, and expressed the hope it will continue, saying,"Innovators are all about taking risks. We need to feel comfortable to take risks, which is by far the biggest challenge." Kennedy also echoed Vice Minister Zhang's calls for increased people-to-people exchanges.

峰会的第二场主题演讲由默克集团 (MERCK GROUP) 中国区总裁兼电子科技中国区董事总经理安高博先生发表。安高博的演讲围绕着 "推进未来电子科技：融合协作赋能明日未来"这一主题展开。安高博强调合作是一种制胜战略，他表示：“通过跨地域合作，不同技术领域的融合带来了非凡的成果并且创造了无限的可能性。”

The Summit's second keynote welcomed Merck China President and Merck EVP of Electronics Allan Gabor. Gabor's speech revolved around the theme "Advancing future technologies: Convergence and collaboration enable tomorrow's possibilities, today". Gabor underlined collaboration as a winning strategy, saying, "The convergence of vastly different technology fields empowered by collaboration across geographies has enabled extraordinary outcomes and possibilities."

半导体工业协会（SIA）全球政策副总裁Jimmy Goodrich发表了当天的第四场主题演讲。Goodrich讨论了芯片晶片法案及其对全球半导体供应链的影响。Goodrich称半导体是当今和未来的关键技术，并表示对未来全球半导体合作保持乐观态度。他说道：“没有一个国家能够主宰这个（半导体）行业。美国需要与中国合作，以重启供应链。”

Jimmy Goodrich, Vice President of Global Policy, Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) also gave a keynote speech, in which he discussed the CHIPS Act and its impact on global semiconductor supply chains. Calling semiconductors "the critical technology for today and tomorrow", Goodrich said he remains optimistic in regards to the future of global semiconductor cooperation. He went on to observe that, "No one country will be able to dominate the industry. The US needs to collaborate with China and rebound the supply chain."

第一场专题小组讨论由甘思德先生主持，嘉宾包括领英（LinkedIn）中国总裁陆坚，Zoom中国区首席代表兼中国美国商会信息与通信技术工作组副主席顾文杰，WPIC Marketing + Technologies联合创始人兼首席执行官Jacob Cooke。该小组嘉宾探讨了人工智能及数字化转型在中国市场的未来发展。

The first panel discussion was moderated by Scott Kennedy with guests, Jian Lu, Corporate Vice President of LinkedIn and President LinkedIn China; Wenjie Gu, Chief China Representative for Zoom and Co-chair of AmCham China ICT Committee; and Jacob Cooke, Co-founder and CEO of WPIC Marketing + Technologies. The group discussed the future of AI and digital transformation in China.

当天第二场专题讨论围绕“可持续发展科技在能源领域的应用：现状、挑战及机会”这一话题展开。中国美国商会前总裁艾毕伦主持讨论，该小组嘉宾包括艾斯本技术有限公司数字化转型专家兼创新创业导师陈洁、霍尼韦尔公司政府事务总监Dong Liu、埃克森美孚公司低碳解决方案业务中国区总经理赵苏芳，以及ICF国际咨询公司ICF中国董事总经理兼气候变化副总裁Renato Roldao。

The day's second panel focused on the development of sustainable technology in the energy industry. Former AmCham China President Alan Beebe moderated the discussion with panelists Grace Chen, Senior Director Solution Consulting, Aspentech; Dong Liu, GA Director, Honeywell; Sufang Zhao, China General Manager for Low Carbon Solutions Business, ExxonMobil; and Renato Roldao, ICF China Managing Director and VP, Climate Change, ICF International Consulting.

下午场会议以Meta大中华区总裁梁幼莓的主题演讲开始。在她的讲话中，梁女士详述了Meta对元宇宙的愿景。她说：“要实现元宇宙的全部潜力需要一个宏大的生态系统，而这个生态系统不可能仅由一家公司完成，而是需要企业家、政策制定者等各方共享责任，共同努力，共同建设美好未来。”

The afternoon sessions began with a keynote from Jayne Leung, VP and Head of Greater China at Meta. In her remarks, Leung outlined Meta's vision for the metaverse. She said realizing the full potential of the metaverse requires a grand ecosystem that cannot be completed by just one company, but one that requires entrepreneurs, policy makers, and more to work together to build the future in a responsible way.

当天最后一场主题演讲由中伦律师事务所合伙人李瑞女士发表。李女士重点介绍了跨国公司在数字化转型中可能遇到的的关于数据治理与和合规监管方面的问题。她指出，数据合规性已经进入了数据安全的新时代，并鼓励跨国公司和利益相关者积极响应并遵循相关法律法规要求。

The final keynote was delivered by Rachel Li, Partner at Zhong Lun law firm. Li focused on the area of data governance and compliance regulation in multinationals' digital transformation. She observed data compliance has ushered in a new era of data security, and encouraged MNCs and stakeholders to actively respond to the relevant requirements, as well as participate in the legislative processes.

第三场专题讨论由中伦律师事务所合伙人侯彰慧主持。奥迪中国（Audi China）政府事务副总裁万莉、国家新能源汽车技术创新中心总经理原诚寅和微软中国区汽车行业总监张鹏参与了讨论。该组嘉宾解读了汽车行业和新能源汽车近期的创新成果，他们一致认为数字化和智能化在该行业发挥着积极作用，同时探讨了该行业目前所面临的一系列挑战，包括芯片短缺及当下犹存的供应链问题。

The third panel was moderated by Maria Hou, Partner at Zhong Lun law firm. Hou was joined by panelists Li Wan, VP of Government Affairs, Audi China; Chengyin Yuan, General Manager and Director, National NEV Tech Innovation Center; and Peng Zhang, Automotive Industry Director, Microsoft China. The group unpacked recent innovations in the automotive industry and new energy vehicles, agreeing that both digitization and intelligence are playing a positive role in the industry. They also discussed some of the industry's current challenges including the chip shortage and ongoing supply chain issues.

本次峰会最后一场专题讨论围绕“数字技术重塑医疗健康产业未来”这一话题展开。在美国信息产业机构（USITO）副总裁毛蕾明的主持下，Intuitive Surgical-Fosun企业事务部副总裁郭楚漫、雅培（Abbott Laboratories）地区副总裁吕强与默克投资（中国）有限公司企业事务总监何志军共同参与了小组讨论。该组探讨的话题包括：供应链本地化、机器人辅助医疗调查、医疗保健中芯片使用频率的增加以及本土化对于提供最高水准护理的重要性。

The final panel focused on digital technology and its impact on healthcare. Joanna Mao, Deputy Director at USITO, moderated the panel with Grace Kwok, VP of Corporate Affairs, Intuitive Surgical-Fosun, Qiang Lv, Divisional VP at Abbott Laboratories, and Zhjijun He, Corporate Affairs Director at Merck China. Topics discussed included supply chain localization, robotic-assisted surveys, the increasing use of chips in healthcare, and the importance of localization to provide the highest caliber care possible.

最后，何迈可总裁再次上台致闭幕辞，并感谢峰会赞助商和与会者对商会科技创新项目及本次活动的大力支持。

To close out the Summit, President Michael Hart once again took the stage to deliver closing remarks. Hart thanked the generosity of the Summit's sponsors and all the attendees for their support of the T&I Initiative and T&I Summit.
