德国联邦铁路公司（Deutsche Bahn）利用该 605 型高级实验列车，测试从驾驶辅助系统到涂料油漆等一系列新技术新产品。西卡与五家涂料油漆制造商一起参与了该项目，并为该项目提供了具有多年应用历史的 Sikaflex®-268 聚氨酯粘接密封胶。
Sikaflex®-268 是为轨道车辆窗户和挡风玻璃的粘合及装配粘接而专门开发的产品，具有非常优异的施工性能及表面修饰性能。并且该产品可以采用西卡特有的 SikaBooster® 和 PowerCure 技术进行加速固化，Sikaflex®-268 非常适用于列车首次生产以及后期维修与保养。

Testing innovations under real-life conditions
The advanced TrainLab provides Deutsche Bahn’s technology partners a test vehicle for their product innovations. The class 605 test train (also known as an ICE TD) had previously spent ten years in service. It consists of two power cars and two passenger wagons and offers a way of testing new products under real-life conditions.
Deutsche Bahn is testing a variety of new technologies, ranging from driver assistance systems to paints, on and in the advanced TrainLab. Sika took part in the current project alongside five paint manufacturers, applying its Sikaflex®-268 polyurethane adhesive and sealant, which has been established for several years now.
Sikaflex®-268 was developed specifically for window and windshield bonding and assembly bonding on rail vehicles and provides very good workability and toolability. Since curing can be accelerated with the aid of the well-known SikaBooster® and PowerCure technology, Sikaflex®-268 is highly suitable not only for first production, but also for repair and maintenance.
It also possesses outstanding resistance to many of the detergents used in Deutsche Bahn’s rolling stock washing facilities. The sealing work was done by our longstanding customer GL-Spezialverglasung GmbH. Peter Baumgartner, Key Account Manager at Sika Industry, provided intensive project support at Sika’s end.
A large number of new, innovative coating products were tested in the advanced TrainLab. To guarantee safe operation in all circumstances, Sika conducted adhesion tests with every adhesive and paint combination beforehand. This involved Sika’s Technical Department coating two blast-cleaned, A4 aluminized steel plates with each paint system and conducting bead peel tests to measure adhesion. "The results of the tests varied tremendously. We had to discuss certain products with their manufacturer", reports Peter Baumgartner. “Finally, though, we were able to apply every adhesive combination to the advanced TrainLab.”
