每日一说050 | 麻药的力量：You're Beautiful

There was a lawyer and  he  was just waking up from anesthesia after surgery, and his wife was sitting by his side.

一个律师刚动完外科手术，渐渐从麻醉剂中醒过来。他的妻子坐在他的身旁。

His eyes  fluttered  open  and he said,  "You're  beautiful!" and then he fell asleep again.

他眨了眨眼睛，睁开眼说：“你真美！”然后又睡着了。

His wife had  never heard  him say that  so she stayed by his side. A couple minutes later  his  eyes fluttered open and he said, "You're cute!"

他的妻子从来没有听他这么说过，于是她继续呆在他身边。几分钟后，他的眼睛又眨了眨睁开了，他说：“你真可爱！”

Well, the wife was disappointed because instead of "beautiful", it was "cute".

妻子有些失望了，因为他说的不是“美”，而是“可爱”。

She said, "What happened to 'beautiful'?"

她问：“怎么不是‘美’了？”

His reply was, "The drugs are wearing off!"

他回答说：“药性逐渐消退了。”
