Aug 19: Night Slugs Showcase featuring Bok Bok & L-Vis 1990
London label Night Slugs has been a driving force in the UK’s alternative electronic scene since 2010. Founders L-Vis 1990 and Bok Bok not only run the label, but have defined its sound through their own productions, which are hard-hitting and eminently danceable. Check the pair’s packed 2014 Boiler Room set for a taste of what to expect.

Aug 19: Shadowplay featuring Maayan Nidam
Maayan Nidam is one of Berlin’s hottest DJs and producers, and she’ll be playing at Migas on Saturday. Of course, what’s a Shadowplay event without artistic installations and visuals?

Aug 19: Gareth Emery
EDM legend, Gareth Emery, was supposed to land in Beijing back in May. Beijing fans were disappointed after the show was postponed. But don't worry, guys. The EDM legend is slated to return to Beijing on Friday at Spark. Emery regularly headlines the main stages of Ultra, EDC, Tomorrowland, ASOT, Coachella and much more. The two-time World Top 10 and four-time World Top 15 DJ recently released his latest album, 100 Reasons to Live. Emery’s motto is that “a good melody can change the world.” And he plans on doing just that during his upcoming performance in Beijing. What better way to kick off the weekend than dancing the night away to Emery’s signature beats.

Aug 20: The Drop featuring Mak & Pasteman
UK duo Mak & Pasteman inhabit a hard-hitting dance music land somewhere between house and techno. They’ve appeared on various important electronic labels (we won’t bore you with a list) and the pair can regularly be heard pumping out tunes across London – and online – on Rinse FM. They play The Drop at Dada.

Aug 20: Sexy Summer III Pool & Foam Party
This summer’s pool party comes complete with a One Drop reggae concert on the water. DJ D'Jack , MC Friday, DJ Greg Katona, DJ OMEGA, will also be setting the tone. There will also be some bikini dancers – if that’s your thing – and a bikini queen contest.

August 20: Open Studio & IASF Opening
If you’re in the mood for a more sophisticated gathering, head over to Open Studio & the 2016 Independent Art Spaces Beijing Festival Opening Party from 4-7pm on Saturday. Eight of their artists-in-residence will be showcasing a variety of art created during their time in Beijing. The topic of this year’s edition is “Be Water.” The opening party kicks off a week of “Independent Art Spaces 2016” from August 20-28.
