全球死亡病例超29万！世卫组织：新冠病毒也许永远不会消失

据世卫组织统计的实时数据，截至北京时间14日18时35分，全球确诊新冠肺炎病例4218212例，死亡病例290242例。

当地时间13日，世卫组织在日内瓦召开新冠肺炎疫情例行发布会时表示，新冠病毒可能会像艾滋病病毒一样演变成地方性流行性病毒，警告称不要试图预测病毒将持续传播多久，同时呼吁做出“巨大努力”来抗击疫情。

世卫组织卫生紧急项目负责人迈克尔·瑞安表示：“重要的是要把这种可能性提出来，即新冠病毒可能会成为我们社区中的另一种流行病毒，而且它可能永远不会消失。”他认为，现在没有人能够预测新冠肺炎什么时候消失，或者是否会消失。

世卫组织总干事谭德塞补充说：“疫情的未来演变掌握在我们手中，这和每个人都息息相关，我们都应该为抗击这一流行病出一份力。”

The coronavirus that causes COVID-19 could become endemic like HIV, the World Health Organization said on Wednesday, warning against any attempt to predict how long it would keep circulating and calling for a "massive effort" to counter it.

"I think it's important to put this on the table: This virus may become just another endemic virus in our communities and this virus may never go away," said Dr. Michael Ryan, executive director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, at a press conference in Geneva. "It is important that we be realistic and I don't think anyone can predict when or if this disease will disappear."

WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus added: "The trajectory is in our hands, and it's everybody's business, and we should all contribute to stop this pandemic."

新冠肺炎疫情仍在美国持续肆虐。据美国约翰斯·霍普金斯大学统计的数据，截至北京时间14日18时35分，美国新冠肺炎确诊病例已超过139万例，死亡病例超8.4万例。

在疫情尚未得到有效控制的情况下，特朗普正迫不及待推进各州解封、学校复课、经济重启。对此，美国“抗疫队长”福奇警告称，过快重启经济和复课有风险，他表示仓促解封会导致新一轮疫情暴发等严重后果。

针对这些警告，特朗普则表示“不能接受”，他在13日的白宫新闻发布会上说：“对我来说，这是一个不能接受的回答，尤其是涉及到学校（复课）方面。”

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday described as unacceptable a warning given by top U.S. infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci this week about the dangers of reopening the economy and schools too quickly, further deepening his rift with Fauci over loosening coronavirus restrictions.

"To me it's not an acceptable answer, especially when it comes to schools," Trump told reporters at the White House when asked about Fauci's warnings to senators on Tuesday about the risks of reopening the schools and economy too soon.

在韩国疫情渐趋稳定之际，近日暴发的首尔梨泰院夜店集中感染事件导致疫情出现反弹。

夜店集中感染事件致韩国单日新增病例数连续5天在30例左右徘徊。目前，夜店集中感染事件相关联病例已升至133例，其中73例分布在首尔，这也是首尔暴发的第二大集体感染事件。

韩国疾控中心14日通报称，过去24小时内，韩国单日新增新冠肺炎确诊病例29例，累计确诊病例超1万例；单日新增死亡病例1例，累计死亡病例260例。

据韩媒报道，梨泰院的部分餐厅和商户被迫暂停营业，系20年来首次。一些出租车司机拒绝搭载往返梨泰院的乘客。

After weeks of nearly no new domestic coronavirus cases, South Korea has seen a new spike in infections centered around nightclubs and bars in some of Seoul's most popular nightlife neighborhoods.

South Korea reported 29 more cases and one more death due to COVID-19 compared to 24 hours ago as of 0:00 a.m. local time on Thursday. This raises the total number of infections in the country to 10,991 and death toll to 260, according to the Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC).

The daily caseload has hovered around 30 for five straight days as a cluster of infections was found from clubs and bars in the multicultural neighborhood of Itaewon in Seoul. A total of 133 cases linked to Itaewon have been reported so far, 73 of which were registered in Seoul – with the others elsewhere in the country – forming the second-largest cluster of infections in the capital.

South Korean media reported that some of the restaurants and other businesses in Itaewon have had to stop trading for the first time in 20 years, and some taxi drivers are refusing to take passengers to or from the neighborhood.

The ministry said in a statement that it had conducted 81 coronavirus tests for travelers from South Africa and Saudi Arabia and found one positive case.

The European Union on Wednesday pushed to reopen internal borders and restart travel，saying they would introduce a phased and coordinated approach to resuming freedom of movement between countries. The EU's internal borders could be lifted in the areas least affected by COVID-19, with health checks at entry points.
