美国约翰斯•霍普金斯大学发布的数据显示，截至北京时间6月28日20时，全球新冠肺炎确诊病例已突破1千万，达10,005,970例，死亡病例为499,306例。
确诊病例数排在前五的国家分别是美国、巴西、俄罗斯、印度及英国。这五个国家的确诊病例数加在一起，占全球确诊病例数的一半以上。
As of 20:00 BJT Sunday, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has reached 10,005,970 with 499,306 deaths, according to the data provided by Johns Hopkins University. The cases in the five hardest-hit countries account for more than half of the world’s total.

新冠肺炎疫情持续蔓延，美洲仍是疫情重灾区。当地时间6月26日，美国报告单日新增新冠肺炎确诊病例超过4万例，是2个多月以来单日新增病例数最高纪录。
值得注意的是，美国近期的新增病例中约半数为35岁以下的年轻人，美国首席传染病专家安东尼•福奇认为这一现象与年轻群体参与聚集活动更多、更易忽视社交距离有关。
面对仍在加速蔓延的疫情，美国多个州都采取了进一步的防控措施。包括德克萨斯州和佛罗里达州在内的至少11个州已宣布暂停或推迟重启经济计划。另外，美国目前至少有31个州通报了疫情反弹。
截至北京时间28日15时，美国新冠肺炎确诊病例已达2,510,323例，死亡病例125,539例。
Amid the ongoing spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Americas remain the hardest-hit region. On Friday, the U.S. reported more than 40,000 new cases within 24 hours, a record high over the past two months. Notably, about half of them are young people aged under 35.
In the face of accelerating transmission, more than 11 states in the U.S. have announced plans to cancel or delay their reopening while at least 31 states have reported a resurgence in COVID-19 cases.

欧洲方面，新冠疫情正在卷土重来。随着各国逐渐放松管控，欧洲每周新增新冠肺炎确诊病例几个月以来首次出现上升趋势。
世界卫生组织欧洲区域主任汉斯•克吕热表示，在亚美尼亚、瑞典、摩尔多瓦等11个地方，疫情出现了“非常明显的回升。” 他还警告称，如果不控制住正在回升的疫情，欧洲的卫生系统将再度处于崩溃的边缘。
Europe has experienced an increase in weekly cases for the first time in months as countries gradually ease restrictions, the World Health Organization says. In 11 places including Armenia, Sweden and Moldova, there is a "significant resurgence" of coronavirus transmission, said WHO Regional Director Dr. Hans Henri Kluge. He also warned that if no effective measures are taken, the health system in Europe will be "pushed to the brink" again.
3 #印度单日新增创纪录#

亚洲区域，印度的疫情形势令人担忧。截至当地时间27日上午8时，印度24小时内新增新冠肺炎确诊病例18,552例，刷新了疫情暴发以来印度的单日增幅记录。事实上，印度的单日新增病例已连续16天保持在1万例以上。

In Asia, India on Saturday reported a record-high daily increase in COVID-19 cases with 18,552 cases registered in a single day. In fact, new cases have been above 10,000 for 16 consecutive days in this country. As of 15:00 BJT Sunday, the total confirmed cases in India have reached 528,859 with 16,095 deaths.
4 #世卫：2021年底前提供20亿剂疫苗#

虽然疫情仍在持续蔓延，但是新冠疫苗的研发传来了好消息。世界卫生组织26日宣布，计划在2021年底前向世界提供20亿剂新冠病毒疫苗，其中半数将惠及中低收入国家。
世卫组织首席科学家苏米娅•斯瓦米纳坦表示，疫苗研发一般需要8至10年，在12~18个月（从2020年1月开始研发算起）内研发出新冠疫苗，是前所未有的速度，只有通过全球合作才能实现。她还提到，目前全球用时最短的疫苗是埃博拉疫苗，共耗时5年。
Though the total number of COVID-19 cases is on the rise, there is good news about coronavirus vaccines. The WHO announced on Friday that it aims to provide 2 billion doses of coronavirus vaccines by the end of 2021 with half of them devoted to low- and-middle-income countries.
The WHO’s chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan noted that it generally takes 8 to 10 years to develop a vaccine. If the coronavirus vaccine is to be developed within 12 to 18 months with cooperative efforts from different countries and organizations, then it would be at unprecedented speed.
