真相放大镜：国外核酸检测又贵又紧缺？CGTN新媒体记者亲身体验中国社区核酸检测

在北京社区做核酸检测难约吗？贵吗？难受吗？社区9,000人一天内测完。社区工作人员、医生是怎么办到的？住这里的老外也表示，没有对比就没有伤害，必须给北京抗疫的力度和速度点赞！CGTN新媒体记者全程记录了自己在社区接受核酸检测的过程。 

COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, and nucleic acid testing has been put into spotlight. Is it unbearabley expensive or difficult to get one? I am Rachel, here is my first-hand experience in Beijing due to the new round of the outbreak.

"All the residents please get a nucleic acid testing as soon as possible!" This is what I heard from the community staff as I was staying home yesterday. 

The next day, I went to the community center to get the testing process started. A staff asked me to scan a QR code for registration, and I walked out of the community center towards the testing spot. These are throat swabs, for the COVID-19 examination, a doctor will use these to collect a fluid sample from my throat.  

I know there are a lot of things being said about this test. Let me share with you the most authentic, real-time reaction right after the test. The swab is not inserted into your throat, but rubs your tonsils on both sides, which may trigger a gag reflex. So I strongly recommend you take the test 1 or 2 hours before or after a meal. The doctor immerses the swab head in a solution and closes the tube after. 

To be more objective, here is how other residents are taking the test. My observation is that for most people it is not pleasant, but bearable. Many foreigners live in my neighborhood. I found the test quite convenient, but what about them? 

Eric, a resident from the U.S., said the community has done a great job. It's incredible. The entire time he has been here, he always thought anytime if there is anything that needs to be done, everything is done so quickly and so efficiently.

Actually I feel the same way. Beijing has carried out effective responses due to the recent outbreak, including mass testing. The motto is: if you're at risk, you'll get tested. And if you want to be tested, you can get one done.

It may be a personal experience, but let's look to data to get the whole picture. Beijing has more than 200 cases, and the city can test 400,000 people per day. According to the National Health Commission, the country has conducted over 90 million coronavirus tests, three times the number in the United States. 

I have to say that as a Beijing resident, I am quite impressed and feel safe because all these anti-virus measures are not for a small number of elites, but for everyone.
