在报道乌克兰难民时，一些西方媒体对这些金发碧眼的欧洲人高度同情，并将其与中东和其他地区的难民区别开来。更有西方媒体记者称“这可不是发展中的第三世界国家”、“他们是欧洲人”、是“基督徒、白人”…...同样都是流离失所的难民，但在戴着“有色眼镜”的西方媒体眼中，他们也被划成三六九等，高低贵贱。这不仅体现出这些西方媒体报道的偏颇与双标，更是对种族与宗教信仰的歧视。
