田薇看两会 政协委员论“中国式现代化”
一年一度的全国两会正在北京如火如荼地召开。代表委员们齐聚一堂，为14亿中国人民的生活制定方案。今年的两会有个特别之处，它是2022年10月召开的中国共产党第二十次全国代表大会后的首届全国两会，因此会对二十大提出的一系列战略部署作出回应。其中最为瞩目的便是为全面建设社会主义现代化国家而团结奋斗这一目标。
The annual "Two Sessions" is in full swing in Beijing. Delegates and advisors from all walks of life are gathered to make plans for the lives of 1.4 billion people. This year's gathering has a special feature: it is the first "Two Sessions" after last October’s 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Therefore it will respond to a series of strategic plans put forward at the 20th National Congress, most notably the task in building a modern socialist country in all respects.
那么中国式的现代化有哪些特点呢？习近平总书记在党的二十大报告中指出，中国式现代化是人口规模巨大的现代化、是全体人民共同富裕的现代化、是物质文明和精神文明相协调的现代化、是人与自然和谐共生的现代化、是走和平发展道路的现代化。
So what are the characteristics of Chinese modernization? Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, pointed out in the report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC that Chinese modernization is the modernization of a huge population, of common prosperity for all, of material and cultural-ethical advancement, of harmony between humanity and nature, and of peaceful development.

At this year's "Two Sessions," Tian Wei interviewed a number of CPPCC members who are experts in their respective areas, spanning economy, trade, agriculture, culture, science and technology, and so on. Let's hear how they understand Chinese modernization in actions.
张懿宸委员：中国经济长期向好的基本面没有改变，双碳行动踏上新征程
Zhang Yichen: China's economy will bounce back and also become greener
中信资本董事长兼首席执行官张懿宸多年来为国计民生建言献策。他强调，中国经济长期向好的基本面没有改变。谈及今年提交的《关于建议将商业不动产纳入基础设施公募REITs扩容试点的提案》，他表示提案旨在推动房地产市场健康稳定发展，这样中国许多房地产开发商可以从“优质资产”中获得流动资金，收益便能用于一些商业住宅的建设工作。张懿宸还带领田薇参观了位于北京首钢园的亚洲首家“零碳”餐厅。习近平主席亲自宣布了2030年碳达峰和2060年碳中和的目标。张懿宸表示，作为企业致力于绿色转型既符合政府的规划，也符合中国顾客的需要。
Zhang Yichen, a CPPCC member, and the CEO of CITIC Capital, believes China's economy, given time, should bounce back. He has proposed to include commercial real estate among publicly traded shares in China this year to promote the healthy and stable development of the real estate market. That way, he suggests, many property developers in China can tap into the liquidity of these quality assets, which could be used to fund the completion of residential properties. Meanwhile, Zhang Yichen also took Tian Wei on a tour of Asia's first "zero carbon" restaurant in Beijing's Shougang Park. He said that since President Xi Jinping personally announced the goal of carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, companies in China are committed to green transformation. It is in line with the government's plan and also caters to the needs of Chinese customers.
刘永好委员：科技自立自强是农业现代化的关键
Liu Yonghao: science and technology self-reliance is key to agricultural modernization
新希望集团董事长刘永好是中国改革开放后第一代民营企业家的代表人物，曾一度被称为中国的“饲料大王”。40年前他辞去教师的工作下海后，白手起家创立了如今的世界500强企业新希望集团。自1993年来，刘永好已担任政协委员或人大代表累计达30年。今年他再次以政协委员身份来到两会，为“农业强国”等议题带来了建议。刘永好认为农业现代化是中国式现代化的重要环节，提升畜牧业育种能力，提高产出效能，将为我国建成“农业强国”添砖加瓦。
Liu Yonghao, Chairman of New Hope Group, once known as China's "Feed King," is a prominent entrepreneur who is a representative of the first generation of private entrepreneurs after China's reform and opening up. Forty years ago, he quitted his job as a teacher and built an agriculture conglomerate from scratch. Today, his New Hope Group is a Fortune 500 company.
Liu Yonghao has served as a CPPCC member or NPC deputy for the last 30 years. This year he came to the "Two Sessions" as a CPPCC member again, bringing suggestions on how to make China’s agriculture stronger. Liu Yonghao believes that agricultural modernization is an important part of Chinese modernization, and achieving innovation and progress on agriculture technology, such as improving on breeding capacity of livestock, is a key part of achieving China’s agricultural modernization.
白重恩委员：提振民企信心对经济发展至关重要
Bai Chong’en: Leveling the playing field for private businesses key to economy
经济学家白重恩是知名经济学家也是全国政协委员。他表示，今年两会他会与其他委员探讨跟中国经济相关的众多议题，其中他尤为关切的一点是如何提振民营企业的信心，转变整个大环境对民企的态度，着实让民企享受到和其他企业相同的待遇。他表示实现这个目标绝非易事，但为了经济的进一步发展必须找到解决之道。
Bai Chong'en, an influential economist and a member of the CPPCC, plans to discuss with other members issues relating to China's economy. He highlights the need to level the playing field for private businesses to boost their confidence, stressing the importance of creating a business environment that supports equal opportunities for all enterprises. He notes that it is not easy to realize the goal, but for the further development of the economy, a solution must be found.
港澳委员唐英年：中国式现代化建设中港澳
Henry Tang Ying-yen：Hong Kong should continue to play its role as a ‘super connector’
全国政协常委唐英年是香港前政务司司长。作为港澳委员，唐英年表示香港应继续发挥自己作为内地与海外的”超级连接器“作用，推动多边国际贸易交流，发展经济，促进就业。同时他认为过去几年消费市场受到较大冲击，因此促进国内消费是当前之需，将有助于经济长远发展。
