联合国教科文组织驻华代表处代表夏泽翰指出，习主席提出的全球文明倡议与联合国体系的理念非常契合。在理解不同国家及其立场，以及避免战争方面，全球文明倡议发挥着重要作用，这也正是联合国和教科文组织的宗旨。 

Shahbaz Khan, director of UNESCO Beijing Office, says that "the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping is very much what the United Nations system is (all) about. It is very important in understanding different nations, understanding their perspectives and avoiding wars, which is really the purpose of the United Nations and UNESCO."
