British pop star Jessie J is coming to Beijing
The star announces major China tour following a win on Hunan TV talent show
This one's been on the cards for a little while, but British pop singer Jessie J has finally confirmed a major China tour this autumn.
The singer who made her name with 'Price Tag' has found new fame in China following her appearance and victory on Hunan TV talent contest Singer earlier this year. Building off of her success on the show and the release of a new four-part album R.O.S.E, she'll be undertaking a nine-stop tour of the country from late August, visiting Wuhan, Wuxi, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Changsha, Shenzhen and Tianjin as well as Beijing and Shanghai.
There'll be 'lots of singing, lots of me being awkward,' Jessie told the Time Out Shanghai team when they met with her just days after her Singer win. 'People will discover how awkward I am because I won’t just sing one song and leave, I’ll stay on stage. I really want to create something special for sure.'
Ticket sales for her Beijing show on Monday 3 September will be going on sale on July 5. The price tag is 380-1,280RMB.
Here's Jessie blowing away Chinese audiences with a rendition of Dolly Parton classic 'I Will Always Love You' on Singer to get you in the mood:
