Cheers to this: Slow Boat to open a new taproom in 2019

TimeOutBeijing 2019-05-16

Local microbrewery's newest venue is set to open in February

Beer lovers, burger lovers, boat lovers, we've got good news: the beloved brewers over at Slow Boat have just announced the opening of a brand new taproom location, sailing back into Dongcheng district at Dengshikou in early 2019. In case you haven't spent much time down in the buzzing hotbed of fun that is Dengshikou recently – it's okay, we forgive you – Slow Boat's handy map has marked the spot for all you boozy pirates.

Offering what they say will be a neighbourhood-friendly, laid-back vibe, the taproom will be hidden, yet not so hidden – because it's right next to Dengshikou subway station – amongst the hutongs of downtown Beijing, harking back to their sadly lost Dongsibatiao location.

In comparison to their sprawling, three-floor Sanlitun brewpub, we're told the newest member of the Slow Boat family will be a smaller, but still airy space, offering seating for more than 50, with additional al fresco options when the weather gods shine on us again.

The new taproom will be open seven days a week, 365 days a year, and will come complete with their favourite beers – 20 different taps, we're told – and food, but with plenty of new menu additions, including an expanded drinks menu for those who aren't so hop-mad. And yes, this f**kin' masterpiece of a burger will be there:

Is your mouth watering yet?

While the news is a very welcome Christmas present, we will have to wait until after Chinese New Year for the grand opening. Until then, get ready for a new place to pour back the beers and raise a glass to a new venture from one of Beijing's finest brewers.

Current address

Slow Boat Brewpub Sanlitun 6 Sanlitun Nan Lu, Chaoyang district.

 11am-midnight Sun-Thu; 11am-1am Fri-Sat.
