The November-December issue of Time Out Beijing is out now!
Time to splash the cash at Beijing's best shops
In our bold new era in the capital, it seems that everything must be in a mall, populated by the same usual suspect chains, but there’s so much more to shopping here than these sterile blocks. We’ve rounded up just some of the city’s more unique stores in this edition’s cover feature, and we'll be showing off even more online in the coming weeks.
We’re also fortunate to be featuring the work of photographer Cameron Hack, a British photographer behind the Humans of China project, who has tracked down and interviewed Beijing’s last remaining ladies with bound feet. It's without a doubt one of the most fantastic features I've seen grace our pages during my time with Time Out, so keep an eye out for their amazing stories – the oldest is 102!
Elsewhere, Nancy Pellegrini uncovers the true crime and murder stories behind Chicago as the hit musical arrives in Beijing, Helena Poole heads out to UCCA's beautiful new museum on the Hebei coast, and with gory fisticuffs championship UFC making its Beijing debut on November 24, Katie Cundale gets ready to rumble at the city's best martial arts clubs and gyms.
Finally, whatever you’re celebrating in the coming months, have a great festive season!
