Roast beef, cocktails and laughs galore as the St George's Day Dinner returns for another year

For more than a decade, the St George's Day Dinner has been celebrating one of England's biggest holidays in Beijing. An annual networking and charity event, this year's bash is gearing up to be a full-blown English affair, featuring plenty of comedy and banter, a traditional roast and, of course, booze.

Supported by the British Chamber of Commerce in China, over 200 guests from corporate, public and diplomatic sectors are expected to attend this year's dinner, set to take place on Saturday April 27 at the Westin Beijing Chaoyang Hotel. Hosted by renowned English comedian Tim Clark, guests can expect plenty of classic English tomfoolery, along with a stand-up set to close out the night. There'll also be a raffle, auction and silent auction, giving you the chance to nab some awesome prizes. 

Kicking off with an English cocktail reception, guests can sip on classic cocktails such as Buck's Fizz, gin and tonics, and Pimms, before soaking it all up with a six-course dinner plus wine pairing. Featuring roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, with cheese and vintage port to finish, there's arguably nothing more English.

Tickets to attend the St George's Dinner are priced at 900RMB per person, and 800RMB for those who attended last year's British Ball. Be quick though, as tickets sell out fast.
