Time Out Beijing Food Awards 2019 winners unveiled

A packed house greeted this year’s award winners at Qianmen

Over the past few months, we’ve been scrambling around the city searching for the top restaurants in town. And yesterday to a crowd of almost 800 at Beijing Fun in Qianmen, we awarded the top dining establishments in the city. 

This is the first year that we have opened up the awards ceremony to the public. It wasn’t just a read-off-the-list event.

Ticket holders got to enjoy the signature cuisines of some of the city’s stellar restaurants, washed them down with premium booze and then had the opportunity to have their say in our best dessert category. 

Eight desert purveyors competed to win top honours with readers tasting and then voting for the winner last evening. 

The awards ceremony kicked off with entertainment in the form of Park Hyatt Beijing's Daniel Park. The America's Got Talent alumni took an evening off crooning on the 65th floor China Bar to draw the crowds to the stage with his soulful vocals. Then local rap star Bamboo took the mic and got the crowd going with his infectious lyrics.

This year, we increased the award categories – a reflection of the rapidly expanding F&B industry – to 25. We also gave out special awards to the top 10 malls in Beijing that consistently excel in their gourmet offerings. Here’s the final list of all the winners:
