Boxing Cat Acquired by AB-INbev
Enormous news for Shanghai’s F&B industry: Boxing Cat has been acquired by AB-INbev, through its subsidiary ZX Ventures. This comes from a recent article by Drink Magazine and we were able to confirm it with sources from within the company.
While you may not have heard about AB-INbev before, you’ve surely seen or tried some of their products. They own numerous prominent alcohol brands including Budweiser, Corona, Beck’s and Stella Artois. They recently made waves in Shanghai by purchasing Kaiba bar, followed by their launching of the new Goose Island Brewpub.
If you’re a Boxing Cat fan there’s no need to stress, we’ve been told the relationship is much more a partnership than an ‘acquisition.' Founder Kelley Lee and brewmaster Michael Jordan will be staying on board to ensure Boxing Cat stays as amazing as ever. The likely result of this partnership will be the increased production and distribution of Boxing Cat beer around China.
