Lick It is the New Michelin-Starred Ice Cream Cafe
Lick It is a brand new ice cream cafe that just opened on Sunday. The shop logo is a huge pair of neon red lips, designed to symbolize temptation. Many of the male customers seem to be a bit confused by them, but the girls are loving it!
In terms of appearance, the store exudes American style, with a warm pink glow emanating from the window. Don’t be put off by the slightly dirty name - we promise you that the ice cream is mouth-wateringly delicious!
This is none other than the head chef Jeno, who used to work at the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Joel Robuchon! After many years of relentlessly cooking up dishes from around the world, he finally decided to open up his very own ice cream shop.
Currently there are four unique flavours available: crispy wheat, smoked cocoa, black peppered strawberry and sour plum. When Jeno is hit by a new surge of inspiration, the flavours will change, so grab them while you can!
Except for the crispy wheat flavour, the rest are not actually ice creams at all - they’re sorbets! In case you’re not sure what that means, ice cream is made from dairy, whereas sorbets are made from fresh fruit. Finally a healthy option!
Crispy wheat is the only actual ice cream available. What’s even more unique is that the scoop of ice cream is sprinkled with cocoa and cereal flakes to add that extra crunch and texture.
Moving on to the sorbets, black peppered strawberry admittedly does sound a little odd, but we guarantee you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The slight spice of the black pepper contrasts perfectly with the ultra sweetness of the strawberries. The strawberry flavour is made with fresh strawberry pulp and candyfloss!
All the high quality ingredients are kept in super cute little pink tubs. The ingredients come from all over the world to guarantee the best flavours.
As well as black pepper, there are a number of other toppings available to perfectly complement the ice cream flavours. For example, crispy wheat goes well with cocoa powder, smoked cocoa with lavender, and sour plum with mint leaves.
Lick It’s first day of business was a roaring success! They originally planned to close at 8pm, but the shop was sold out of everything by 5. That means if you want to get your hands on one of these ice creams, you’d better get down there ASAP!
There’s no need to worry about getting cold hands either - you’ll be provided with a paper towel to protect your delicate fingers.
