Construction Set for Shanghai's 4th Railway Station

Construction is about to begin on Shanghai East Railway Station in Zhuqiao town, Pudong. The new station will be about 4 km away from the Pudong Airport, and is set to be complete within 5 years.

The station will have 10 platforms and an expected 22 lines. Train services will run to Nantong, Hangzhou and numerous other nearby cities.

The finished station will also feature an express bus that makes the short trip to PVG, as well as the 68km drive to Hongqiao airport.

Shanghai East Railway station will be the second largest Shanghai station after Hongqiao which, by comparison, currently has 30 lines. The other two (Shanghai Railway station and Shanghai South Railway station) both have 13 lines.
