With temperatures going up to 33-34℃, cool off with some summer treats or take a dip in one of the water parks in and/or around Shanghai.
We have rounded up the latest operating hours, ticket prices and recommended attractions for all the water parks to visit this summer!

Within Shanghai
Playa Maya Water Park
Address: Lin Meng Xin Lu, Songjiang District
When: 1 July – 3 September 2017, 9:30 – 21:30

Following some revamps, the Playa Maya Water Park adopts a new theme of “Summer fun in 80 nights”.
In the day, play on some of the major water features, and as night fall, treat yourself to a summer beach party like never before. With 30 performances throughout the day, have a theatrical affair at the Playa Maya Water Park.
Sea creatures, slides, fairytale stories come to life, enjoy their 18 attractions, especially the man-made wave pool that is 14,600 sqm big and produces waves up to 3.5m.
Getting There
Public Transport: Take Line 9 and alight at Sheshan station for a shuttle bus to the water park.
Driving: Exit at the G60 (A8) Songjiang exit and drive north to Lin Meng Xi Lu, then west 2km to the water park carpark.
Tropical Storm
Address: 78 Xin Zhen Lu
When: 23 June – 3 September 2017
How Much: RMB 160-180 (Adult)
One of the oldest water park in town, relief some of your summer childhood memories at the Tropical Storm Park.
One of the biggest outdoor water parks, the park houses over 30 thrilling rides for the adventure junkie.
Be warned, the large park and numerous rides makes it almost impossible to cover everything so select your rides wisely and go early!
Getting There
Public Transport: Take Line 1 alight at Xinzhuang Station before 763 or 173 to Xinzhen Lu and Gudai Lu.
Driving: Exit Gudai Lu from the A20 Outer Ring Expressway, and turn right at the first exit of Xinzhen Lu.
Sanjiagang Beach Park
Address: Sanjiagang Beach Park, Huasha Dong Lu Dong Shou
When: Already in operations
How Much: RMB 69 (Adult)
Look no further than Sanjiagang Beach Park for great xiaolongxia and cruise rides.
Offering something for everyone, for the thrill seekers, enjoy a jet-skiing session, or beach volleyball, for those looking for sometime more relaxing.
Alternatively, help yourself to their buffet bar or take a slow stroll around.
Getting There
Public Transport: Alight at Lujiazui Station and change to the Cheng Cai Lu line before arriving at Sanjiagang Guang Chang.
Driving: Outer Ring Expressway – Long Dong Da Dao – Yuan Dong Da Dao – Hua Sha Dong Lu
Jinshan City Beach
Address: 7741 Hu Hang Gong Lu
When: Already in operations, 20 June – 10 September 2017
How Much: RMB 30 – 50
No stranger to all, Jinshan City Beach opens its doors this summer from 20 June onwards, closing daily at 20:30. This summer, the beach has lso added a 10,000sqm leisure area within the west swimming complex.
Grab some friends and don’t miss out on their annual summer music festival and beach volleyball competition!
Also, if the sun isn’t your thing, unwind at their beach side book store, the only one in town.
Getting There
Public Transport: Change at Shanghai Nan Station to Jinshan Tie Lu, before alighting at Jinshan Wei Zhan.
Driving: Go onto the A4 from Xinzhuang, and exit the highway at Ting Wei Gong Lu before making a left turn to Ting Wei Gong Lu to Jinshan Da Dao.
Bihai Jinsha
Address: 39 Hai Qu Lu, Feng Xian Qu
When: Opened All Year Round
How Much: RMB 30 – 56
A familiar place to Fengxian University students, its said that Bihai Jinsha resembled the Jinshan City Beach.
Using sand imported from Hainan, get the best beach experience right here and save on an overseas beach getaway.
The beach also offers motor-ski for the sports enthusiasts.

Public Transport: Take Line 1 to Xinzhuang Nan Guang Chang, then switching to Xinhai line.
Driving: A4 – Haiwan Lu exit - Waterfront of Oriental Fisherman Wharf of Shanghai – Bihai Jinsha Water Park
Shanghai Disney Resort
Address: Huangzhao Road, Chuanxinzhen, Pudong Xinqu

This list is definitely not complete without the mention of Shanghai Disney Resort.
A highly anticipated project throughout last year, enjoy the world’s first Pirates of the Caribbean attraction here at Shanghai Disney Resort. We heard that creators spent over 7 years before creating the final product today.
Go on an journey of a lifetime with Captain Jack Sparrow and have a peek into the beautiful seas and exciting adventures that lie ahead!
A great day out for kids, dress them up in their favorite pirate costume or engage them in their own battles of the sea at the pirates exhibition.
Another must-go attraction is the roaring rapids, but do bring an extra set of clothing as you’re bound to get wet!

Mao Xian Dao Water Park

Spanning over 200,000sqm, Mao Xian Dao is Chang San Jiao’s biggest water park to date!
Adopting a Viking theme, live out the Viking life and learn more about their lifestyle at any of the attractions here.
Interestingly, most water and leisure attractions here follow the storyline of Yang Shan overcoming evil.

Driving: Drive on the G60 Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, entering G92 Hangzhou Bay Ring Expressway – Shanghai Kunming Expressway – G2501 – Shanghai-Kunming Expressway – G25, then entering Lishui West in Hutong district, keeping along Lvyu Lu.
Suzhou Amusement Land
Address: Yangshan Dong Lu, Gao Xin District, Suzhou
When: 22 June – 3 September 2017

Closely located around Shanghai, get to the near in an hour through either private or public transport.
Over 80,000sqm in space, enjoy a Southeast Asian affair at the Suzhou Amusement Land.
Visit their floating river, windy slides, octopus slides and more for a roaring good time!
Also, the park houses a SPA, for those ladies looking for a dead skin removal treatment, fish spa treatment, rose bath soak and more.
Getting There
Driving: Exit the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and drive on Mayun Lu then Changjiang Lu before reaching the water park.
Happy Shuimofang
Address: Dao Huang Li Shu, 198 Tangshan Jie Dao, Nanjing
When: Already in operations, 10:00 – 19:00

Located within Nanjing Tangshan, Happy Shuimofang is said to be one of the most modern and large-scale water park in Asia.
The park is able to house up to 30,000 patrons and can be split up into 6 main categories – surfing, beach, slides, children attractions, wave pool and SPA.
Not only that, the park produces 3m high waves, fit for surfing and a 10,000sqm natural beach.

Getting There
Driving: Exit the Shanghai-Nanjing Tangshan Expressway and drive on 3km before reaching the destination.
Jiufeng Water Park
Address: Jinxi Da Dao, Jin Xi Development Zone
How Much: RMB 198
Within Jinhua City, Jiufeng Park is located within the Jin Xi Development Zone, and offers adventure, entertainment and recreational options for everyone.
Take an afternoon out in the farm picking out fresh produce, or chill at the man-made beach, enjoying waves up to 3m high!
Getting There
Driving: Depart from Shanghai, and drive on the Hu Hang Expressway before switching to the G2501, then exiting at Jinhua West. Continue on straight and arrive at the Water Park.
