5 Weird & Wacky Restaurants in Shanghai
Line Cafe
We love our mobile phones. We also love our chat apps APPs. But, it is even weirder to have a café based on a mobile APP! Born in Korea, Line Café is based on the mobile chat APP, “Line”. Stranger still, every weekend the place is filled with long lines out the front door of the selfie loving kidult and their handbag toting boyfriends.

Kuma Cafe
On the outside, it looks like a souvenir shop of the beloved black bear cartoon Kuma. But, on closer inspection they also carry cakes, sweet stuff, candy and clothing. It’s weird to dine next to the black bear, but its atmosphere is quite fun and not extremely packed. This is a good thing, since we are beary, beary particular about our personal space.

Uncle Friends Café & Store
As if two restaurants based on cartoon characters are not enough, here comes Uncle Friends Café and Store. With four live sized gigantic bear/cat figurines standing outside, it easily passes as a toy store or a super fancy stationary shop. But step inside and you will see it has all the set ups for a café.

This place is the exact replica of Central Perk, the fictional Café (well, not so much anymore) from the “Friends” series.
