After 20 years of preparations and an investment of 51.4 billion, the world's 5th and China's 1st Universal Studios has finally opened.
Video Tour of Beijing Universal Studio
The largest Universal Studios in the world, Universal Studios Beijing, is officially open to the public on September 20.
The first phase of the project covers 169 hectares, equivalent to two Universal Studios Osaka and five Universal Studios Singapore.
The park has 7 themed areas, 16 rides, 14 performances, and 21 retail stores.
The world’s only Jurassic World adventure project, the world’s first Transformers base, and the world’s 2nd Harry Potter castle are some of the highlights here.

Tip: Tickets are available on Universal Beijing Resort official app, mini program and other official platforms
After the ticket sale release on September 14 at midnight, the tickets were snapped up two days after the park opened. Lesser passenger flow after November 22 is expected.
If you have limited time and price is not an issue, opt for the VIP services. The latest VIP sale has been sold out.
The VIP services are available at RMB 1200 /person for the VIP park experience and RMB 2300 /person for three people for the private VIP session. The private VIP includes priority queues to attractions, customized itineraries, and priority meetings with specific characters.
About the Universal Studios Mini Program and App
Visitors are recommended to download the Beijing Universal Resort app or log in to the official Mini Program.
Transportation and Subway Information
Visitors can reach the park via the Universal Resort Station at the end of the Metro Lines 8 and 7.
By Taxi: Taking a taxi from the city center to the park costs around RMB 130
By Public Transportation: Bus 589 and Bus T116(Two designated bus routes will be put into use)
Park Admission Time
Beijing Universal Studio opens at 9:00, but most visitors arrive at 8:00. We recommend that you arrive the park at 7:00 due to the long line at peak time.
There are seven themed lands including the Wizard World of Harry Potter, Transformers Metrobase, Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness, Hollywood, WaterWorld, Minion Land and Jurassic World Isla Nublar.
There are three main goals at the park: Visit all attractions, No Dining and Shopping, Visit all Popular Food Stores.
We didn’t go to the most popular Harry Potter attraction this time around and only visited Jurassic Park, which was less crowded. The Transformer attraction also didn’t see many queues.
The best way is to visit the park in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.
Clockwise Route: Jurassic World Isla Nublar, Jurassic World Isla Nublar, Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness, WaterWorld, the Wizard World of Harry Potter, Minion Land.
Anti-clockwise Route: Minion Land, the Wizard World of Harry Potter, WaterWorld, Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness, Jurassic World Isla Nublar, Jurassic World Isla Nublar.
Hollywood
The Hollywood Boulevard attraction reminds many of California.
Each frame here looks like California.
Mel’s Drive-In is a small American restaurant from the 1973 American Graffiti film by the Star Wars director, George Lucas.
Various vintage cars are parked at the door.
It is recommended to visit at dusk and sunset.
At the end of Hollywood Boulevard is the Brilliant Theater, with a special effects space created by Steven Spielberg and Zhang Yimou.
There are shops selling products and merchandise on the side.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Welcome to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Beijing.
This is the most popular attraction and is similar to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Osaka.
It is recommended to dine here in the afternoon or visit the attractions at 5 pm. In the morning, the attraction is not accessible via Minion Paradise.
After entering Hogwarts Castle, scenes from the movie will begin to unfold.
Follow Harry Potter in a Quidditch match, travel through the forbidden forest, and fight against Dementors.
Take the roller coaster and ride with Hippogriff, flying over Hagrid’s cabins, overlooking Hogwarts.
Don’t miss the Triwizard Tournament and the Frog Choir in the afternoon.
Merchandise on the Side
There are various celebrity wands or birthday wands for sale at the Ollivanders Wand Shop.
Dress up in your Wizarding college uniform at Gladrags Wizardwear.
There are wizard robes priced at over RMB 800, cardigans sweaters at RMB 500 to RMB 600, short sleeves at around RMB 200, and more available here.
There will be three light shows in the main castle after 8 pm.
Credit Cookies Hidden in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
1. Visit the toilet in the Harry Potter area, and Myrtle will be waiting.
2. After nightfall, the door of Forbidden Journey will display spells that cannot be seen during the day.
3. Hidden in the park is an interactive device for magic spells.
4. There are cannibals in the magic shop as well.
Jurassic World Isla Nublar
The attraction recreates scenes from "Jurassic World," and the queue time is about 20 minutes.
Adventurers can get close to the Raptors here.
Enjoy a 4D immersive ride with "Jurassic World Isla Nublar." The ride provides a 360-degree bird's-eye view of the world of dinosaurs.
Transformers Metrobase
World’s First Transformers Theme Area
The most exciting project is the Decepticon roller coaster.
No carry-on items are allowed.
Transformers: Battle for the All Spark is a virtual roller coaster ride.
The Hornet Gyro machine can execute rotations and revolutions simultaneously, and it can also interact with the Hornet.

WaterWorld
The ride can seat around 2300 people, and there will be live water performances.
Visitors can look forward to an interesting, fast-paced plot executed by a dedicated acting team throughout the 45-minute performance.
Tip: Sit on the blue seats if you’d like to get wet.
Minion Land
The Minion Land recreates the cute island in the movie.
The speed of the small, cute Despicable Me roller coaster is incredibly fast.
Watch the Minion and Despicable Me performances, and interact and take a photo with the characters.

Catch small animals sunbathing at the Minion beach.
Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness
It is the first themed area and the only fully air-conditioned indoor area.
The wisdom fairy peach tree shows the different phases of peach trees in the four seasons.
The attraction with the longest queue is the Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness, which is an easy ride. You can look forward to dazzling martial arts at the Kung Fu Panda carousel or play the Legend of Lantern and plane games.
Po Kungfu Training Camp is a cool indoor playground.
The general area is large, and the queue moves very fast.
Grand Cruise in Universal Resort
Float parades can be seen in the park as well.

Every day from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm, the parade will start from Hollywood Boulevard and end at Minion Land.
Tip: The parade can be seen from some of the rooms at the Universal Studios Hotel.
There are affordable dining options in the park.
A cup of butterbeer here is sold for RMB 50, and with a top-up of RMB 30, you can enjoy it in their signature cup, which serves as a souvenir.
There are hidden stores at the side entrance of Hog’s Head and Mr. Ping’s Restaurant.
A Minion Ice Cream prices at RMB 40
Get the banana popcorn and toy car set for RMB 195.
Try their roasted chicken drumstick at just RMB 40.
Visit the Hog's Head bar for British snacks and butterbeer.
There are three restaurants here, and they serve several classic noodle dishes.
Enjoy a meal for two, with drinks and dessert for just RMB 100+.
Luoxia Restaurant is a great place for dinner as well.

The Universal Studios Grand Hotel
The Universal Studios Grand Hotel integrats with the entrance of Beijing Universal Studios.
There are 800 guest rooms and suites, and all rooms are fitted with marble floor tiles.
NUO Resort Hotel
The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the entrance of the Beijing Universal Studios Theme Park.
About 400 rooms of the hotel have a Chinese garden design.
The park management and service are good, and each staff is clear about their responsibilities.
Public areas are specifically marked, and employees are patiently showing the way.
Visitors will not be disappointed.
Tips for a Fun Time at the Park
1. Required for admission: ID card, Beijing Universal Resort app, or Mini Program.
2. You can check the queue time of each project and performance in real-time in the app or Mini Program.
3. Wear a pair of comfortable shoes.
4. There is no power bank for rent in the park; visitors can rent one in the restaurant for RMB 5 per hour.
5. The park provides a baby stroller rental service: a single seater priced at RMB 100 for a day and a double seater at RMB 130 for a day.
6. Universal City Avenue provides wheelchair rental pricing at RMB 100 for a day and luggage storage services.
7. Recommended to set up Beijing Health app, as visitors will need to scan to participate in each activity.
8. Visitors can use the trolleys in the park to purchase the Minion Soda Boxes, Universal Studios Beijing bottles, and Butterbeer Mugs.
9. Apart from food items with a strong smell, such as durian, or self-heating pots, visitors can bring bottled water and small snacks into the park.
