Book a spot at Fly by Jing's new Sichuan private dining concept
Shanghai foodies and lovers of dope Chinese street food, listen up, 'cause you're in luck (as are we). Next week will bring the launch of a private kitchen from Jenny Gao and her 'Sichuan soul food' concept Fly by Jing, where you can attend private dinners, cooking workshops and supper parties at her Shanghai studio on Xinle Lu.
We've been following Fly by Jing around from pop-up to pop-up since last year – from Elefante to More than Eat to bonobo and beyond – so this new endeavour from Gao is a more than welcome in our books.
Gao's also got some things coming in her online store, like Sichuan chilli crisp and Zhong dumpling sauce, which we'll be getting our hands on as soon as we can. With all this new stuff, we're hoping Gao is paving the way for her own brick-and-mortar shop in the near future.
The first dinners are being held at 8pm on February 16 and 17 for 500RMB per person, and there are only ten spots per night, so best move fast – book a spot by visiting their website, send an email to hello@flybyjing.com or WeChat message (ID: jingtheory). We also hear Gao will be doing a Sichuan noodle pop-up at More than Eat on the weekend of February 25, so stay tuned for that.
