You can now win money every time you ride a Mobike

Bike-sharing app Mobike has launched a new 'Cash Packet' promotion. Cyclists can win sum of money - up to 100RMB - just by riding one of their orange mean machines.

Simply find one of the bikes marked with a hongbao (red envelope) emoji - there were a dozen within walking distance of our office when we looked - and rent it as normal.

You can use that bike for up to two hours free of charge, and if you cycle for 10 minutes you'll win a random amount of money, up to 100RMB. Currently Mobike can only credit Alipay accounts with the winnings, but the team say they're working on WeChat compatibility.

And if you want to increase your chances of winning a larger amount of money, when you're done park the bike in a popular area such as near a subway station or in a busy part of town. Pretty nifty way of making sure more bikes get to where they need to be, if you ask us.

Another way you can increase the amount you win is by riding longer. The longer you ride the bike, the bigger the chance of winning a larger sum. Mobike, mo' money.
