San Francisco's Peet's Coffee is making its way to Shanghai
These days everybody wants a piece of the Shanghai pie, coffee-mongers included. Of course, the city already has plenty of awesome local coffee shops, from Seesaw and Ocean Grounds to Sumerian and Café del Volcan, and obviously big name brands like Starbucks (USA), Pacific Coffee (Hong Kong) and Costa Coffee (UK) have already long established their grounds here – pun intended. Why not one more?

Making its way across the lake from its hometown of San Francisco, Peet's Coffee is joining the Shanghai bean scene. It looks like they'll be setting up shop just near Wagas on Donghu Lu, also alongside a new branch of Brew Bear beer joint and another incoming restaurant/bar called STONESAL.
With joints across the USA, the chain seems obsessed with the life of the bean, claiming to taste each one three times during its life cycle before it even gets that special lovin' from master roasters.
No exact word yet on when the café will open, but there's lots of hammering and banging going on behind that sign, so expect it to be soon (hopefully).
