Looking for a way to enjoy those balmy Shanghai summer nights? The Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau has announced that it will be extending/altering the opening hours of 195 of the city's parks from May 1 through October 31, according to SHINE.

73 of the 195 parks will remain open 24 hours, including Zhongshan Park, Guangchang Park and Xiangyang Park, while many will just be staying open for longer. Jingan Park and Daning Park in Jingan district will be extending their hours to 10pm and Hongkou's Luxun and Quyang parks will be open until 9pm. Putuo district's Changfeng and Putuo parks will also be extending until 9pm respectively.

During these extended opening periods, there will be enhanced security, such as extra patrols, while parks will also improve lighting, surveillance cameras and safety railings etc. So, yeah, keep it family-friendly and don't expect to get away with a late-night romp in the bushes...
