章莹颖绑架案更多细节曝光！嫌犯被捕，罪名成立或被判死刑！

中国访问学者章莹颖在美失踪22天后，终于传来确切消息。

据《芝加哥论坛报》（Chicago Tribune）报道：

Federal authorities have arrested and charged a 28-year-old man with allegedly kidnapping Yingying Zhang, a visiting scholar at University of Illinois who disappeared three weeks ago and now is presumed dead.

美国联邦当局逮捕并指控一名28岁男子，据称其绑架了伊利诺伊大学访问学者章莹颖。章莹颖于三周前失踪，目前据推测已经死亡。

犯罪嫌疑人名为布伦特·克里斯滕森（Brendt Christensen），现年28岁，5月份获得伊利诺伊大学硕士学位，曾是该校物理系的一名助教。

“Christensen earned a master's degree from the (physics) program in May of 2017 and his affiliation with the department ended that same month,” said the university spokeswoman, Robin Kaler.

伊利诺伊大学发言人罗宾·卡勒表示：“克里斯滕森于2017年5月获得物理学硕士学位，他与该系的从属关系也于当月结束。”

His LinkedIn profile states he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013 with bachelor’s degrees in physics and math.  Christensen described himself as a Ph.D. candidate at U. of I. since January of 2014, researching experimental condensed matter physics.

Cooper said Christensen mentioned in spring 2016 that he was married and that he and his wife were going to use the next year to decide what their plans were while he completed his master’s program.

“He was completely normal, there were no complaints about his teaching,” Cooper said. “He was on the excellent teaching list so he was well-reviewed by his students.”

Former classmate Souvik Dutta said he was “dumbfounded” by the news, recalling Christensen as a nice guy and “very calm.”

今年4月，章莹颖作为访问学者前往伊利诺伊大学厄巴纳－香槟分校（Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus）进行访问学习。

当地时间6月9日14时左右，章莹颖坐上一辆汽车后失踪。美国联邦调查局介入后，将这一事件定性为绑架案。

▌Video showed Zhang boarding a Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District bus around 1:35 p.m. She took the Teal line bus from Orchard Downs and exited at West Springfield and North Mathews avenues at 1:52 p.m., police said.

警察表示，据监控视频显示，下午1点35分左右，章莹颖在Orchard Downs站搭乘厄巴纳－香槟MTD公交车，1点52分左右在斯普林菲尔德西路和马修斯北路路口下车。

▌Four minutes later, Zhang was seen on video trying to flag down another MTD bus, but it passed her without stopping. The affidavit states the bus was a Limited Line bus and probably did not stop because Zhang was standing on the wrong side of the street to board.

四分钟后，章莹颖被拍到试图叫停另一辆MTD公交车，但是车没有停。宣誓证词书称，这是有限线路公交车，没有停的原因可能是章莹颖站在上车点对面的街上。

▌Unable to catch the bus, Zhang walked north to the intersection of North Goodwin Avenue and West Clark Street, where she stood at another designated MTD bus stop on the southeast corner. 

没有乘上公交车，章莹颖向北走到了古德温北大道和西克拉克街路口。她站在东南角的另一个指定的MTD公交车站。

《芝加哥论坛报》报道中称，根据MTD网站，这条公交线仅在该校假期和暑期运营（only during university breaks and summer sessions）。

▌Around 2 p.m., a black Saturn Astra, which authorities say was driven by Christensen, was seen on surveillance video from a nearby building driving east on West University Avenue, then turning onto Goodwin and then to Clark Street, past where Zhang was standing. The Astra then reappeared on surveillance video driving west on West Main Street, then turning back onto Goodwin.

下午2点，一辆据警方介绍由克里斯滕森驾驶的黑色土星牌阿斯特拉轿车出现在监控录像中，由该校西大道向东行驶，然后转入古德温大道，之后驶入克拉克街，经过章莹颖所在地点。该车辆后再次出现在监控录像中，由缅因西大街向西行驶行驶，然后转向古德温大道。

据警方介绍，在接近章莹颖前，犯罪车辆一直在附近兜圈子（circling the area before approaching Zhang）。

随后，警方确定在香槟郡（Champaign County）共有18辆四门土星牌阿斯特拉车注册登记，而其中一辆车主为克里斯滕森。

当地时间6月12日晚，警方到犯罪嫌疑人家询问章莹颖失踪当日他的行踪。

犯罪嫌疑人起初表示，自己记不清了（he could not remember），然后改口称自己可能是睡了一天或打了一天游戏（either sleeping or playing video games all day）。

警察搜查了其车辆，并未找到或带走任何东西（did not locate or take anything from it）。

6月14日，警察对监控视频进一步分析发现嫌犯车辆有天窗，而且前排副驾一侧轮毂破损（had a sunroof and a cracked hubcap on the front passenger side）。

随后，警官返回了克里斯滕森住处，确认其车辆状况与监控录像中的车辆吻合。

6月14日，美国伊利诺伊州中部地区联邦法院批准在嫌犯车辆里寻找章莹颖失踪时身上的物件，包括痕迹证据。

此时，犯罪嫌疑人再次改口。

他表示自己当天确实碰到一名看起来很忧虑的亚裔女性（an Asian woman looking distressed）。在听说她要迟到了，就载了她一程（he offered her a ride after she said she was late to an appointment）。

Christensen claimed he made a wrong turn at some point and the woman panicked, then he let her out of his car a few blocks from where he picked her up.

克里斯滕森宣称，他转错弯后，该名女性很惊慌，然后就在几个街区外把她放下车了。

2017年6月15日，联邦调查局（FBI）探员申请得到联邦搜查令，检查嫌犯持有的手机。

搜查发现在2017年4月19日嫌疑人曾经在Fetlife（一个特殊性癖网站）上访问名为“绑架入门”（"Abduction 101"）的论坛，并且还阅读了标题为“完美的绑架幻想”（“Perfect abduction fantasy”）、“如何绑架”（"planning a kidnapping"）等帖子。

在搜查过程中，联邦调查局探员还发现章莹颖坐过的位置清理力度明显更大（ appeared to have been cleaned to a more diligent extent than the other vehicle doors"）。

6月16日开始，当局开始监视克里斯滕森。

On June 29, police heard him say on an audio recording that he kidnapped Zhang, brought her back to his apartment and held her in his apartment against her will, according to the affidavit.

根据证词宣誓书，6月29日警方监听到他在一段录音中说自己绑架了章莹颖，把她带回了公寓，并违反她的意愿，把她囚禁在自己公寓。

据此，警方相信章莹颖已经遇害（law enforcement does not believe (Zhang) is still alive）。

警方随后对克里斯滕森实施抓捕。

获悉这一消息后，中国驻芝加哥总领事洪磊赶赴伊利诺伊州，看望章莹颖的家属。

Hong condemned the cruelty by the suspect and urged the U.S. judicial system to hold a fair trial and mete out harsh punishment to the man charged in the case.

洪磊谴责凶犯令人发指的行径，总领馆将敦促美国司法部门公正审判，使罪犯得到应有的严厉惩处。

伊大校长琼斯（Robert Jones）当晚发表声明表示：

This is a senseless and devastating loss of a promising young woman and a member of our community. There is nothing we can do to ease the sadness or grief for her family and friends, but we can and we will come together to support them in any way we can in these difficult days ahead.

校长声明

美国司法部的一份媒体声明说，克里斯滕森将于7月3日首次出席联邦法庭的审讯。

据新华社报道，受中国驻芝加哥总领馆委托，义务为章莹颖亲属提供法律援助和咨询的华人律师王志东表示：

当地州的法律判决没有死刑，但根据美国联邦法院法律，“绑架致死”最高量刑可判死刑。

美国检方将以联邦法院法律起诉嫌疑人。

王志东说，这显示出检方寻求对罪犯施以最严酷的刑罚。

对于莹颖的亲友和所有关心莹颖的人来说，这21天的等待一定是备受煎熬、痛苦万分的。

虽然警方已经做了最坏的推断，但是我们还是希望出现奇迹，莹颖平安归来。
