In case you missed it: April 2023
Here is your month in review
This month, we expressed ourselves with poetry, explored new frontiers in education, became better stewards of the Earth, celebrated our diverse community and took a gastronomic world tour without even leaving the Dome! In case you missed it, here is just a taste of what we got up to in April.

On 21 April Wellington pupils, parents and teachers came together to celebrate the diversity of our community once again with our annual United Nations Flag Parade and International Food Festival. Wellingtonians represented their home countries in a procession on the track. Overhead, the flags of every nation and territory represented by our families flapped in the wind as anthems filled the air. Shortly thereafter, the event quickly moved into the Dome, where culinary creations from all around the world awaited. It was an opportunity to celebrate both what makes us unique as well as what we have in common while sharing in one of the most powerful expressions of a culture, its food.
Our Upper Prep pupils stepped up to the microphone in the Blackbox Theatre in mid-April for a Poetry Slam. This was a powerful showcase of personal expression and creative talent. The event was not only a celebration of artistic expression but also an opportunity for pupils to embody the Wellington Values of Courage and Kindness. By sharing their personal experiences and vulnerabilities, pupils demonstrated great courage, while the supportive and inclusive atmosphere of the event exemplified the Value of Kindness. It was a memorable and inspiring event, highlighting the power of self-expression and community support.
